@DannyDonnelly1 Yes, great to have defibs available in the community (maintained and resuce ready! Pads and batteries in date). The key to rescue is good quality CPR started asap after out of hospital Sudden Cardiac Arrest happens. This keeps the blood circulating to vital organs. #CPR #AED

Defibrillators (pioneered in Belfast by Professor Pantridge) have been around for decades and saved millions of lives around the world. Having them accessible and ready for use in a handy location is a great idea. It’s deeply dippy to think otherwise.

♥️ If a defibrillator is used within 3 to 5 minutes of cardiac arrest, it can improve the survival rate by up to 70%.
