Statement from Councilman Nathan Willett on @HeatherHallKC’s Appointment to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 11th, 2025 “I applaud Governor Mike Kehoe’s decision to appoint Heather Hall to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners. Heather is a common-sense leader who will serve our community with integrity. In addition to her previous role on the City Council, Heather helped create Veterans Community Project (VCP), a local nonprofit committed to helping homeless veterans rebuild their lives. She was also instrumental in the success of Variety KC, a charity dedicated to improving access for children with disabilities. Her leadership helped deliver high-impact projects in public parks and at the Kansas City International Airport, ensuring more inclusive community spaces. Heather also worked closely with the families of fallen officers to help establish the Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Garden in the Northland - a lasting tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Heather will now assume the traditional Northland seat on the board, following the conclusion of Former Board President Dawn Cramer’s term. I want to thank Commissioner Cramer for her extraordinary leadership during her time on the board and as President. She led as a watchdog, advocating for transparency and accountability, and played a key role in rallying community support for the construction of a new jail.” - Councilman Nathan Willett
