We're sad to report that one of our lovely members has had his e-trike and mobility aid STOLEN in York yesterday from a disabled cycle parking space. See below for info and bike details. Not easily resold as they are custom made to suit the disability needs of the owner. RT

Network Rail want to build a 96-step bridge crossing at Copmanthorpe. They applied using permission which prevents the Council objecting on grounds of inaccessibility. Object to this discrimination of disabled, pushchair users, and cyclists before 2nd May! kingqueen.org.uk/copmanthorpe/

I see that the date has changed to 1st June, so it includes GTAs who thought in the summer…. But not those thought in the winter term 😞

@BethLing @AutumnalSarah @UniOfYork Yes. My partner started a job at the uni last month and is eligible for the bonus. I’m a GTA who actually taught in the pandemic last year. And a research student in the department who placed number 1 in REF. But that’s not enough to make me eligible for the covid/REF bonus.

Two friends, two PhD students. On gets a job at University of Leeds, perhaps as one of the new Curriculum Redesigned posts; the other gets a job on the same salary at Leeds Beckett. The colleague at LB now can expect twice the income in retirement than the UoL colleague.

I’ve been nervous but today I feel more calmed. It’s been difficult and life itself showed me that even if you have a plan and want to do a lot of things (publishing! Project! Teaching! Conferences! Etc) taking care of yourself comes first. A lot of the times I forgot that.4

I don’t really post about my personal life on twitter, but today I will. 3 months ago I was diagnosed w a hyperthyroid. how I have been feeling through the pandemic finally made sense. Looking into the roots, they found a 2.5 cm node and it was thyroid cancer 1/x
