I am happy to say that because of vaccines, I am recovering at home. My lungs just needed a little boost (I don’t have asthma regularly before you ask). It’s scary and a little bit traumatizing, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone…not even those who won’t get vaccinated. Be well.

Double vaccinated + a booster. Avoided gatherings and only saw my sister over Christmas who was asymptomatic. Now I’m sitting in the hospital after hugging my kids goodbye in case I don’t go home. Don’t be fooled - this new variant isn’t mild.

@summerlovingppl @LizanneFoster It affected me harder than my family. My family had more mild symptoms like nasal congestion. I never had nasal congestion or sore throat, but I have fever, cough, chills, fatigue, elevated heart rate, shortness of breath. More chest stuff…

This blew up way more than I intended it to. I hate being the Center of attention. I just wanted people to know that getting those vaccines and boosters are important! Because while I am sick, the staff has also comforted me that I will also recover. Thank you for the love.

@TheDuggerD @JanetBrown980 Not sure which variant it is yet. It could be Delta. Definitely presented differently than my husband and daughter.

@MariGarCar Thank you. They recovered and are recovering well from it even the younger two who only have one vaccine. They had more nasal congestion than the chest stuff that I have.

@SkycladAwen My kids already have it. We used our last Rapid tests to test them and I don’t think I can’t doubly give it to them.

@pancholi_rakhi Our whole house has it - 2 parents and 3 kids. We were just grateful that we all got it at the same time since our kids usually stagger illness. Also that one parent (not me) is doing significantly better than the other to at least make food for kids who can still eat (2/3).

Parenting through COVID has some strange moments. Like realizing we’re lucky to have one parent w/ COVID to take care of the kid who also has it. That way the non-COVID parent can take care of the kid that doesn’t. Single parents aren’t so lucky.

He plays for the NSA. He’s incredibly healthy. He didn’t yet qualify for a third booster. He’s got a fever, cough, and he can’t make it up the stairs without being winded. Get vaccinated. I can’t imagine how much sicker he would have been without it.

Despite keeping our groups small (we visited with my mom and sister 1 time who had no symptoms when we did), we all have Covid. We are mostly doing okay. Fevers, mild cough. Except for my lacrosse-playing 15 y/o who had his second vaccine in June.

We will have to restrain the loudness of our voices, the suddenness of our movements and the intensity of our emotions if we are to provide a safe place for the scared, the suffering, the traumatized and the silenced.

Triple vaxxed and the kids are double and single vaxxed (per age). If we were going to catch Covid, at least it’s when we have some protection.

6 y/o who has Apraxia told me tonight that he doesn’t like Christmas flavoured toothpaste. If you’re wondering, Christmas tastes like mint which probably reminds him of candy canes. And it’s really cool to hear my kid verbalize his connections.

I fly out to Manitoba tonight for Christmas but it's been full brain fog for the past two days so none of it feels real. Does one need to be packed? Does this trip even exist? How is it Christmas, it feels like December just started?

First semester of grad school is done! For the past 15 weeks, I have worked full-time, attended school full-time, and continued to raise 3 kids. Now, I rest.
