BREAKING: A Federal Judge has just blocked an Arkansas law that allowed for librarians to be charged criminally for books that kids read within the libraries they work. Details: - U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks has issued a preliminary injunction against the law, which was signed by Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and was set to take effect on Tuesday. - The lawsuit names the state’s 28 local prosecutors as defendants, along with Crawford County in west Arkansas. - These are the plaintiffs challenging the law: Central Arkansas Library System in Little Rock, the Fayetteville and Eureka Springs Carnegie public libraries, the American Booksellers Association and the Association of American Publishers. I understand the need to protect children from seeing certain material, but to criminally charge librarians for not doing the job that parents should be doing is pathetic in my opinion. Thoughts?
