JCAHO is big mad that we aren't putting pain severity indications for each analgesia med (i.e. Tylenol for mild pain and oxycodone for severe pain), but indifferent to the fact that our hospital does not have a heparin drip or mechanical ventilation protocol/order set.

@TheRealRhllor @robbys_toupee I think everyone in the medical world could benefit from watching the Pitt. I have been a nurse for 40+ years. I can relate to a lot of scenes and the distress they caused.

@robbys_toupee I teach chaplain students at a level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. My wife is an attending trauma surgeon who also teaches students. We both use The Pitt in teaching. It is medically real. It's also very accurate in the portrayal of: PTSD, trauma, grief, and death.

The primary audience does tune in for medical realism. We use scenes from YouTube to demonstrate patient presentations of classic diseases in our medical school. Noah and Joe were brought to ACEP25. The Pitt became a “household name” in hospitals across the world.

If the writers and producers keep messing with the fandom like this (and let’s be real with all due respect, the audience didn't tune in for 'medical realism™', if that were true, the show wouldn't have blown up only at the end of S1), The Pitt is heading straight for cancellation after Season 3. And then, someone is going to have to wait another decade to find relevance in this industry again. We love these characters and their connections. This is a medical DRAMA, not a documentary. They need to get over themselves and stop pretending they’re 'revolutionary' or 'woke AF' while pulling this BS.

@Kama_Kamilia Bought groceries for two elder ladies that came to our community center for assistance and carried them home when I was in seminary. 2 very large gang members showed up the next time I worked to make sure I got back to my apartment everyday I worked . They were their moms.

@shaunasadecki Let's talk about the real issues. I'm not singling any particular (nurses) group out. Pen thievery from colleagues. Literally taking the best pens to use and disappearing them. I have to bring gel pens as offerings to floors when I'm doing patient and staff visits!

A Frito update (cause I know you all love him): he had emergency surgery today to relieve a herniated disc in his spine. It went well and hopeful for a full recovery. It is going to be a long road ahead but he will make it. Thanks for all the love and well wishes. 🙏🏻💗

Going to a work event tonight.
My 12 yo asked me if my dad taught me how to dress well and tie a tie.
He didn’t. My mom did.
She was a seamstress. She tailored many suits over 60 years.
She taught me how to tie a tie, pant lengths, shirts, etc. Even as an adult, she would tailor clothes for me if they didn’t fit well.
She also taught my dad and his brothers too, since they all grew up without a father.
Moms. Always there for their sons 🥹

@TheChiefNerd Thankfully, it seemed to have worked for me, at least in combination with masking. I've probably diagnosed and set up close and personal with 500 flu cases so far this year.
