@MassifDigital @tamy_mammi The fees are fixed for the mempool to accept the txns but it wouldn’t require a HF to change them. I’m also pretty sure if you ran your own node and miner you could mine your own txn at a fee you set (although I’m not 100% sure on that. Maybe like 80-90% sure lol)

“Why would someone pay fees per message?” If you aren’t already subscribed to a centralised app like X then you are paying with something else: your data etc. Paying minimal fees to send a post on K social or Kasia/KaChat etc is a tiny price to pay for freedom. Freedom isn’t always free, but it’s worth it imo $KAS

Its a damn shame, seeing the $kas ecosystem crumbling like this. But on the positive side: at least Igra had the dignity to inform him in a TG message, and not via a public X post, which already makes them less terrible than both KEF and core leads. That being said, this does not bode well for Kaspa. ZK Opcodes are only as useful as the incentives for prover network to provide proofs to verify. Without aggregation, having to provide your own proofs becomes a huge entry barrier for aspiring programmability projects (i.e. any capabilities beyond the expresiveness of silverscript). But it seems that the only team who proposed a decentralized aggregation solution is about to go under. (I haven't been in touch with anyone from Igra for months now, so I don't know the details of the termination. But axing a top tier engineer before release with no notice or severance doesnt exactly scream "budget"). I guess the ZK of codes will now become another route for KEF/Kasplex/Kurve to keep scamming the community out of money. Given that these scammers seem to be the only ones in the (rotting corpse of) the Kaspa ecosystem with resources to do anything with it. Of course, this isn't just about KEF and their antics, but also about the phenomenal leadership of Sompolinsky and Sutton, who personally made the ecosystem caustic for everyone trying to give KEF a run for their money. And you know what, maybe it's time to put some truths out there myself. Something I begrudgingly tried keep to myself, and mostly succeeded up to some cryptic bitter remarks. But now that Igra seems to start falling apart at the seams, it feels wrong to keep this to myself any longer. About 8 months ago, I was offered a position of chief scientist for Igra, which I accepted. Before it came to fruition though, there was an Igra board meeting that was split half in half for and against. Hearing of this deadlock, I stepped away and reduced contact to a minimum. The insulting part: the two board members who voted against me were exactly the two people who offered me the position in the first place less than two weeks beforehand! When I pressed the point to understand wth, it was heavily implied that Sompolinsky made explicit threats that if Igra cooperates with me, he will deliberately harm Igra with his public statements. This fit in well with seeing the hostility of S&S towards Igra rise in perfect correlation with my public support thereof (and the general vindictiveness in Sompolinsky's other actions). Despite the huge emotional toll S&S's active sabotage attempts towards me during the last year and a half at the expense of the ecosystem, I decided not to be forthcoming with this conduct, as I didn't want the personal beef to detract more from the general discussion about Kaspa. But given the last development, I don't think denying this information makes sense any longer. To conclude, I just want to remind you all that Kaspa would have never existed if it weren't for Mike Zak. So show your respects.

@mike_zak_mus , I genuinely think this is a most worthy pursuit. Technology can improve how we live, (Kaspa/Igra) but art reminds us why we live. In a world increasingly consumed with knowledge, utility, and self interest, we need people who create beauty, evoke wonder, and point us toward something beyond ourselves. The greatest art has always done more than entertain. It has expressed truth, goodness, mystery, and transcendence. I hope more people choose that path. Wishing you God's blessing as you make the transition. I have a feeling the world needs more music like that, perhaps even more than it needs another piece of technology.

You’re misunderstanding the point. Saying Kaspa should become monetary infrastructure isn’t defeatist. It’s the stronger thesis. Trying to become only “the world reserve currency” makes Kaspa one currency competing against every other currency on earth. That’s easy to attack. But if Kaspa becomes the decentralized proof-of-work rail that everything of value can move through meaning KAS, stablecoins, tokenized assets, payments, contracts, whatever comes next. Then it becomes much harder to destroy because it’s no longer just competing with currencies. It becomes the trade route they all use. The goal isn’t smaller. It’s bigger. Kaspa can be money and the network. But the network is what gives the money real gravity.

I’m starting to realize something about Kaspa. Maybe I’ve even been thinking about it slightly wrong. Maybe the goal isn’t for Kaspa to become the perfect currency or the world reserve currency. Because a currency is always going to be seen as competition. If it competes with the dollar, the euro, the peso, or any other currency, then there’s automatically a reason for people to attack it or try to stop it. But a network is different. If Kaspa becomes the network those currencies move on, then it’s not just competing with them anymore. It’s becoming infrastructure for them. Dollars could move on it. Stablecoins could move on it. Euros, pesos, remittances, payments, settlement, whatever. And once something becomes useful infrastructure, people don’t really want to destroy it. They start depending on it. So maybe the endgame isn’t Kaspa becoming every currency. Maybe the endgame is Kaspa becoming the decentralized proof-of-work network that currencies move through. The more I think about it, the more that feels like the actual path. Is this the way? Or am I way off? @hashdag @michaelsuttonil #kaspa kaspa:native

This sounds like the XRP narrative re-hashed... But Kaspa can actually do it successfully. Kaspa can actually be a reliable RWA vehicle in every sense. However that implies kaspa is now a success in terms of txn’s.. then as a result… hash rate. Then it’s competing with currencies as a store of value automatically at that point and medium of exchange as well. Everything is simply a trojan horse scenario

Unpopular opinion: If your entire account revolves around Kaspa, you’re probably not an investor. You’re more likely one of two things: 1. A builder shipping a new Kaspa tool every month because that’s where your revenue comes from, not because it drives meaningful adoption. 2. Someone who’s never looked beyond one ecosystem and mistakes loyalty for research. Real investors follow opportunities. They challenge their own convictions. They don’t build their identity around a single ticker.

Things that generate temporary hype but no lasting demand. Endless meme tokens, random NFTs, copy paste KRC-20 tokens, AI wrappers with no users, and tools that exist only to extract liquidity from the same community instead of bringing new users into Kaspa. Building isn’t the goal. Solving real problems that attract people outside the ecosystem is.
