Today, the Optimism Foundation is restructuring its balance sheet as WW3 looms:
- Transferred 40m $OP to intermediate wallet 0x733, valued at $4.67m.
- 1 mon ago, 0x733 received 28m OP from the Optimism Foundation and sold everything on FalconX and GRS markets.
- Since the Iran war began, the OP price pumped over 20%, hitting a high of $0.132 before a sharp dump, currently trading at $0.115.
Based on transaction history, it is likely the 40m $OP will be sold soon.
ICYMI:
- Base is leaving the Superchain to build its own home, officially ending its "rental" status.
- In Q1/2026, total Superchain revenue reached $2.1m, down 30% compared to Q1/2025 ($6.38m).
- 50% of Superchain revenue will be used for $OP buybacks.

How did the Optimism Foundation dump $OP? • on 1/26/2026, the foundation transferred 28m tokens to wallet 0x733. • on 1/27/2026, that wallet moved 27m to 0xD8d. The same day, 0xD8d sent 12m to FalconX and 15m to 0x4FF. • on 1/28/2026, 0x4FF deposited the 15m tokens to GRS Markets. • on 1/29/2026, $OP lost the $0.3 level and dropped nearly 50% over seven days. That was also the day the buyback proposal was approved. It is now trading at $0.186. What’s the lesson? Be cautious with proposals that appear to support price and growth but may actually be a trap. AVNT absorbed the selling pressure from their latest 40M tokens airdrop like a champ!
