I pulled this off a conspiracy website to provide optics for how people on one side of a spectrum see a situation from their point of view. I post this purely for context. What happened to the U.S. border? Where did it go? Who erased it? Why and how did 5 million people enter our country illegally? Did Congress secretly repeal our immigration laws? Did Joe Biden issue an executive order allowing foreign nationals to walk across the border and reside in the United States as they pleased? Since when did borrowed money not have to be paid back? Who insisted that the more dollars the federal government printed, the more prosperity would follow? When did America embrace zero interest? Why do we believe $30 trillion in debt is no big deal? When did clean-burning, cheap, and abundant natural gas become the equivalent of dirty coal? How did prized natural gas that had granted America’s wishes of energy self-sufficiency, reduced pollution, and inexpensive electricity become almost overnight a pariah fuel whose extraction was a war against nature? Which lawmakers, which laws, which votes of the people declared natural gas development and pipelines near criminal? Was it not against federal law to swarm the homes of Supreme Court justices, to picket and to intimidate their households in efforts to affect their rulings? How then, and with impunity, did bullies surround the homes of Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch, John Roberts, and Clarence Thomas—furious over a court decision on abortion? How could these mobs so easily throng our justices’ homes, with placards declaring “Off with their d—s”? Since when did Americans create a government Ministry of Truth? And on whose orders did the FBI contract private news organizations to censor stories it did not like and writers whom it feared? How did we wake up one morning to new customs of impeaching a president over a phone call? Of the speaker of the House tearing up the State of the Union address on national television? Of barring congressional members from serving on their assigned congressional committees? When did we assume the FBI had the right to subvert the campaign of a candidate it disliked? Was it suddenly legal for one presidential candidate to hire a foreign ex-spy to subvert the campaign of her rival? Was some state or federal law passed that allowed biological males to compete in female sports? Did Congress enact such a law? Did the Supreme Court guarantee that biological male students could shower in gym locker rooms with biological women? Were women ever asked to redefine the very sports they had championed? When did the government pass a law depriving Americans of their freedom during a pandemic? In America can health officials simply cancel rental contracts or declare loan payments in suspension? How could it become illegal for mom-and-pop stores to sell flowers or shoes during a quarantine but not so for Walmart or Target? Since when did the people decide that 70 percent of voters would not cast their ballots on Election Day? Was this revolutionary change the subject of a national debate, a heated congressional session, or the votes of dozens of state legislatures? No, of course not. What happened to Election Night returns? Did the fact that Americans created more electronic ballots and computerized tallies make it take so much longer to tabulate the votes? When did the nation abruptly decide that theft is not a crime, assault not a felony? How can thieves walk out with bags of stolen goods, without the wrath of angry shoppers, much less fear of the law? We are beginning to wake up from a nightmare of a country we no longer recognize, and from a coup we neither knew about nor recognized.

I posted this story because I was thinking about conspiracy theories. They drove a lot of my actions back then. Some theories are valid and many are outrageous. But, the average person can't make heads or tails of what is true and what is not. I think that precognition is more real than some may believe & may have something to do with quantum entanglement. I am working on recognizing when I start to drift from drawing parallels (which is logical) into something more complex like "This is a quantum connection - aka "a sign" - that the universe is showing me". A very techno-hippie thing to say, right? It's quite similar to the religious "evidence" contained in many conspiracy theories. But, they are often so... very... wrong, just as I could have been "dead wrong" in my story. And, while I enjoy looking for what may be real quantum connections, I am working on keeping a healthy skepticism.

During the peak of the Vietnam War, U.S. Marine Kevin McLoone was astonished to encounter his old New York neighborhood friend, Donohue, driving a jeep in An Khe. Douglas Brent was an American Navy petty officer who was taken captive during the Vietnam War, he was considered dumb by his captors and they gave him the nickname "The Stupid". He acted like an imbecile, refusing to speak, instead he continuously hummed a song. Throughout his imprisonment, he remained in a similar state, to the extent that the Vietnamese captors believed he had some form of cognitive impairment. Upon his return to the United States after his release, Bent recited the names of about 256 fellow POWs who were being searched for by the US military. Remarkably, Bent had memorized the names by associating them with the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," which he had used previously to hum during his captivity.

Dave Carroll was a singer-songwriter and a member of the band Sons of Maxwell. In 2008, he flew with United Airlines from Halifax to Omaha, with a layover in Chicago. He checked in his Taylor guitar, which he valued at $3,500, as part of his luggage. Upon arriving in Omaha, he discovered that his guitar was broken, apparently due to mishandling by the baggage handlers. He contacted United Airlines to file a claim, but faced indifference and bureaucracy. They informed him that he had missed the 24-hour window to report the damage and was not eligible for compensation. In his attempts to escalate his complaint to various managers and executives, he received no satisfactory response or resolution. Frustrated, he decided to take matters into his own hands and wrote a song called “United Breaks Guitars”, recording it with his band and posting it on YouTube. The song quickly went viral and had a significant impact on United Airlines' reputation and customer satisfaction. Within four weeks of the video's release, United Airlines' stock price fell 10%, costing stockholders about $180 million in value.

Charles Jean Rigoulot was a French weightlifter and professional wrestler. He won the gold medal in the 82.5 kg division at the 1924 Summer Olympics and set eight official world records between 1923 and 1926. In 1924, he became the first person to clean and jerk more than 400 pounds, using the non-revolving barbells of that time. During World War II, he was imprisoned after hitting a Nazi officer but managed to break out of his jail cell by bending the bars. He also helped other prisoners escape before confronting the guard who had jailed him.

Kim Peek was an American savant born with an abnormally large head and serious developmental challenges. Doctors discovered that the bundle of nerves connecting the two hemispheres of his brain was missing. They considered him mentally retarded and advised his parents to send him to a mental institution, but they refused. At six years old, doctors recommended a lobotomy to "cure" him, but his parents didn't consent. Despite this, Kim started to amaze them, reading and memorizing vast amounts of information in various subjects, such as history, literature, geography, and dates. It was recorded that he could accurately recall the contents of at least 12,000 books. Peek read by scanning the left page with his left eye and the right page with his right eye. He remains one of the greatest savants in history and inspired the 1988 Academy Award-winning film Rain Man.

@historyinmemes The Battle of Shiloh took place from April 6 to April 7, 1862, and was one of the major early engagements of the American Civil War. Despite the Angels Glow mud salve for healing, by the end of the battle, nearly 1 in 5 on either side were wounded or killed in action.

After the Battle of Shiloh in April 1862 , Many Civil War soldiers' lives were saved by a phenomenon they called 'Angel's Glow.' The soldiers who lay in the mud for two rainy days had wounds that began to glow in the dark. The men had no explanation for the strange glow, but doctors soon discovered that soldiers who had reported seeing their wounds glow had a higher chance of survival than soldiers who did not. Not only that, they also seemed to have lower rates of infection. Moreover, their injuries appeared to heal much faster than their non-glowing counterparts. In 2001, 17-year-old high school student, Bill Martin and his friend, Jonathan Curtis, won an international science fair by discovering that the soldiers had been so cold that their bodies created the perfect conditions for growing a bioluminescent bacteria, Photorhabdus luminescens, which ultimately destroyed the bad bacteria that could have killed them.

In Russia, during the Cold War, hundreds of old steam-engine trains were strategically parked on old tracks as a contingency plan in case the Russian electric grid faced any disruptions. The central Perm region of Russia is home to a unique sight - a train cemetery filled with dozens of steam locomotives from the 20th century, dating as far back as 1936 and as recent as 1956. Over the years, around 140 locomotives were stored there, but as technology advanced, steam engines were gradually replaced by electric power, rendering these reserve trains obsolete. As maintenance on the locomotives ceased, they fell into disrepair, succumbing to rust and overgrown vegetation. In recent times, some of the abandoned trains have been purchased and removed by Chinese owners, while others have been restored and transformed into exhibits at various museums and memorials. This train cemetery remains as a testament to an era when steam locomotives played a vital role in Russia's transportation infrastructure during the Cold War.

This is not a carved wooden hand but instead a close-up of "Old Croghan Man," a 2000-year-old Iron Age bog body. A bog body is a human cadaver that has naturally mummified in a peat bog. Found in 2003, you can view the body on display in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin.

In 1967, during the Vietnam War, an American soldier held up a Scolopendra subspinipes, a species of giant centipede found throughout Asia. The centipede preys on insects like spiders and scorpions but can overpower small mammals or reptiles. It uses its venomous jaws and other legs to immobilize its prey until the fast-acting venom takes effect. The centipede's body is reddish-brown and can reach a maximum length of 12 inches (30 cm). In the photo, the centipede is being held up by a fishing line and appears closer to the camera than the soldier standing nearby, who isn't actually touching the centipede.

I was first introduced to self contained ecosystem projects thanks to the works of David Latimer. There is a lot of practical use that comes from knowing the results of these types of experiments. We do need to gain a better understanding of earths self tuning mechanisms and think your research is worth a closer look.

@historyinmemes In 1986, Chernobyl forest received massive doses of radiation. This left animals in the region at great risk to genetic deformity. While the long term exposure is still an ongoing crisis to the health of humans and life of any form, short term, the mutants quickly appeared.☢️😱☢️

The first image of Chernobyl was captured 14 hours after the April 26, 1986, explosion. It was taken from a helicopter assessing radiation levels in the disaster area. The photo's grainy quality resulted from the intense radiation in the air, which damaged the camera film upon exposure. Igor Kostin, the photographer, discovered that radiation affected his camera's motors after about 20 photos. Only the image above was usable; all other photos, impacted by high radiation levels, turned out completely black. Kostin's visit to Chernobyl was unauthorized and concealed by the authorities. Nonetheless, he later gained permission to photograph the disaster site, the evacuation of Pripyat's residents, and the 30 km zone around the power plant. His images played a vital role in exposing the catastrophe to the world. Despite his proximity to the site, Kostin did not receive lethal levels of radiation. He passed away in a car accident in 2015 at the age of 78.
