The abundance of plants scattered around the Barbican Estate will never make up for the fact that the entire thing is an abomination. It should never have been built in the area, which is otherwise largely Victorian buildings. I have never met a fellow Londoner who disagrees & I've been here nearly 3 decades.

The thing I was most disappointed by with “Wuthering Heights” was the costuming. Not because they’re fantastical or historically inaccurate, but because it gave a window into a better version of the movie. A version that stood firm in its high fantasy stance.

@Eve_Barlow Nah it’s not fascinating. Other than I’m fascinated by how two of the most beautiful actors working today can have such poor chemistry. Sets, costume, soundtrack stunning. I was mortally bored throughout. Thank the Lord for Martin Clunes

The 'Wuthering Heights' discourse is fascinating. It's just a movie, but the violent reaction to it demonstrates that many people are now afraid of the impact of art. They're afraid that a woman director and lead actress will refuse to bend to The Elite's puritanical needs and demands, and will make whatever the hell interpretation of a classic novel they want to – with wild success. It makes you think about who the "patriarchy" truly are.

@Filmsanddogs @Eve_Barlow This has really made me laugh. I loathed the book so much that I gave it up half way through so I was prepared to be excited by the film. I l checked my watch three times during the film, for something so staggeringly beautiful it’s the most boring film I’ve ever sat through

@Eve_Barlow Maybe it’s just bad? My teenage son and his girlfriend walked out halfway through. “I don’t know how a film can be simultaneously disgusting and boring” was his verdict 😂 I’m still keen to see it though out of curiosity.

@Monkeypaw It was great. I think that in a lot of other filmmakers' hands this could have come off as a silly or cringy or over the top scene, but Nia DaCosta and Chi Lewis-Parry created this perfect little moment. The tone of Samson's voice, his facial expression, perfect.
