In 2023, @KemiBadenoch hosted an Iftar at Lancaster House. I was there. Here’s what happened:
• Call to prayer ✔️
• Men and women prayed separately ✔️
• She stayed, participated, ate food, and raised no issue ✔️
Fast forward to now and she claims Ramadan events with gender-separated prayer are “wrong” and should never have happened.
So what changed?
Not the practice. Not the format.
Just the politics and her principles.
If it was acceptable when she was in government hosting diplomats and business leaders, why is it suddenly “wrong” when it involves ordinary British Muslims?
You can’t have it both way

A former NATO commander just said the quiet part out loud.
Trump is trapped. The military logic of this war has collapsed into a binary no one in Washington wants to say clearly: either launch a ground invasion of Iran – a country of 90 million people, mountainous terrain, and three decades of asymmetric warfare doctrine – or declare victory over rubble and go home.
Neither is winning. One is catastrophe. The other is theatre. The Strait of Hormuz is still contested. Iranian proxies are still operational. The nuclear program is dispersed, hardened, and possibly accelerated. Air strikes didn’t end the threat.
Every day this drags on, the gap between what was promised and what is achievable gets wider.

Nearly every major human rights and academic experts on genocide have determined Israel has carried out genocide.

But Nick you don’t “interview those who use the word genocide”. I’m one of the most prominent British genocide scholars and I called Israel’s genocide in October 2023. I’ve had a lot of international media attention but my BBC total in 30 months is one interview on Radio Ulster.

A Russian-backed information campaign is actively supporting Viktor Orbán’s political strategy in Hungary, and investigators have mapped how it works.
At the strategic level, the operation is overseen by Sergei Kirienko, First Deputy Head of Vladimir Putin’s administration. At the operational level, Kremlin political technologists, including Ilya Gambashidze and structures such as the Agency for Social Design, help develop messaging and narratives.
Additional Russian political consultants, including Firus Aliyev and Grigory Kazankov, are also involved. The campaign is amplified through media and influence networks such as Infors, Portalcombat, and Adnow, and then repeated locally by pro-government voices inside Hungary.
Together, this creates a coordinated system capable of rapidly spreading political narratives – from migration fears to attacks on "Soros", the EU, or Ukraine.
The key issue in the Hungarian election is no longer Orbán’s position on Ukraine. The real question is how deeply Russian information warfare methods have penetrated EU politics.
