But really - tradies are more essential & less regarded than nurses bc nurses have degrees?? No profession is so underpaid & under appreciated.

But pick up a history book and in order for societies to deploy a civil service you need a workforce to shelter and feed it. Your problem is you think they, the entire workforce, not just one specific job, earn too much.

Just a friendly reminder that workers who build things with their hands are actually more important than most who work behind a desk. The latter’s social value is extremely subjective. The former group’s work is easy to measure. Objective. Without them, those working behind the desk will starve, freeze, and not be able to function. No homes, no desks, no office, no plastic, no food, no phones, nothing. Your university degree does not place you above these workers. It only ensures you don’t raise a sweat to produce value for society.

@SudokuJigsaw @deemadigan If it’s two weeks unpaid, I’m struggling to see how it’s much different to anything else and why anyone would get worked up about it - it’s not much different to work experience, which Year 10s used to do. So many other things to be angry about.

Morrissey is both wrong and right. Most people had zero influence over Sinead. She was her own person with her own issues. At time like this you can only offer prayers because we are out of solutions. My mum and I had great chats about Sinead. We all wanted her fixed.

@KosSamaras There is the thought that some small households living in older larger housing are doing so because there are limited alternatives. It may assist in freeing up options for families (it’s not the whole answer though).

This is a good idea but… Apartments are favoured by pre and post kid households. The bulk of renters with kids still need a lot more room. I find it interesting that parts of the public service would consider this to be the silver bullet - whilst the bulk of them work from home. Do they think that renters don’t work from home, don’t need extra space and don’t have kids? Of course you can get your hands on an apartment in established suburbs with the required room for all of that - for a cool 1 million. There is a reason many rent. They can’t afford 1 million.

For those (unsuccessfully) trying to defend ‘Welcome to Sex’ aka a GRAPHIC SEX GUIDE FOR KIDS, by saying it’s kept in the adult/parenting section of book stores/departments, this isn’t the case at @Dymocksbooks 🤔 They also sell it in the children’s section of their website.
