👏👏👏 @RepChrisPappas nails it on the head.
#Turkey’s deployment of F-16 fighter jets to the occupied part of #Cyprus is “unacceptable and illegal under US law.”
Turkey’s decision once again reinforces President Erdogan's claim to the title #WorstAllyEver

FACTS
Turkey has been in breach of international law every day since
July 20 1974 - the day they invaded and occupied the north of Cyprus . Thousands of civilians were killed and 200,000 plus Greek Christians were ethnically cleansed and had their properties stolen by the Turkish colonisers .
Turkey was welcomed as a NATO member and NATO has remained silent on Turkey’s colonialism
It seems breaking international law is damned and ignored by the UN and certain nations when it suits their political agenda to do so

@EliAfriatISR ⚠️ Correction: There is no “Turkish Cyprus”. It is the part of Cyprus currently under illegal Turkish military occupation.

@POLITICOEurope A state that maintains a military occupation of EU territory with 40,000 troops is not a “critical partner”, it is an occupying power.
Enough with the nonsense.

TURKEY’S GAZA HYPOCRISY🚨
The hypocrisy of Turkey’s role as a guarantor in the Gaza peace deal is staggering. Just days after the final 20 living hostages were released and the remains of the first 3 returned under the agreement signed, we’re supposed to trust Ankara as a neutral peacekeeper?
This is the same Turkey that’s currently holding five elderly Greek Cypriot pensioners hostage in occupied northern Cyprus, after they were abducted by Turkish forces in the village of Trikomo in July.
Doesn’t this echo the October 7, 2023, abductions by Hamas, where 251 innocents were snatched and held in Gaza? Turkey, after all, has long harbored Hamas leaders, provided them refuge since 2011, and even funneled financial support, reportedly up to $300mln to the group it openly calls a “resistance movement.”
Erdogan himself has leveraged these ties to mediate the recent deal, but let’s not forget, Turkey’s “open-door policy” for Hamas isn’t altruism, it’s sponsorship.
The parallels run deeper, to this day, the remains of 744 Cypriots remain unaccounted for, effectively held hostage since Turkey’s brutal 1974 invasion that partitioned the island and displaced hundreds of thousands.
How can the West appoint a country that’s guilty of its own abductions and occupations to oversee peace in Gaza? Turkey’s “guarantor system” for Palestine is a recycled ploy from its role in Cyprus, where it guarantees nothing but division and impunity.
Israel and regional allies must stay vigilant. Turkey’s involvement isn’t about stability, it’s about expanding influence while whitewashing its track record. If history teaches anything, it’s that foxes don’t guard henhouses.
