PASSED THE HOUSE: My amendment in support of robust funding for improvements to VA direct care for New Hampshire veterans, including upgrades to Manchester’s VA Medical Center. I have always fought to deliver more resources to our veterans, and I will continue to fight for improvements at the Manchester VA Medical Center.

I recently met with New Hampshire Emergency Nurses Association leaders and nurses, Stacey, Megan, and Marci. We talked about the need to strengthen nursing workforce pipelines and better support and protect our nurses who do so much.

I’m proud to co-lead the House resolution that passed to pay tribute to fallen law enforcement officers. We must always remember to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

INTRODUCED: The Vote by Mail Protection Act I helped introduce legislation to nullify President Trump’s unlawful executive order attacking mail-in voting, which is used by seniors, people with disabilities, overseas service members, and all types of Americans to ensure their voice is heard. Pike Industries is a transportation construction company that has served our state for over 150 years. It’s always great to hear from local voices about the needs of New Hampshire businesses and communities.

Following my push for the House Oversight Committee to investigate insider trading in online prediction markets, Chairman Comer confirmed the beginning of the process on @MorningsMaria today. There’s no place for corruption in our government.

PASSED THE HOUSE: The Combating Organized Retail Crime Act Organized retail crime hurts New Hampshire small businesses, employees, and communities. I’m a cosponsor of this bipartisan legislation to strengthen tools for law enforcement and combat these crimes, and it just passed the House.

We’ve got to work together to tackle the housing crisis, build more affordable units, and lower costs for builders and families. Woodland Village Phase II in Goffstown is a great example of public and private funding delivering dozens of needed affordable housing units. Thanks for the tour, @NHHousing!

A win: New Hampshire’s Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest will remain open despite the administration’s actions to reorganize the Forest Service, close facilities across the country, and end critical environmental research. Making nominations to the United States service academies is a privilege that I take very seriously as a member of Congress. It was great to talk with interested students and their families at our Service Academy Day on Saturday.

Prediction markets have opened a new door for insider trading by government officials, and Congress has a responsibility to fully investigate any corruption happening and put a stop to it. I’m demanding action now.

Families need help now. @RepChrisPappas and I already have a bill to suspend the gas tax. Let’s get it done.

This should have happened months ago. @SenMarkKelly and I have legislation to suspend the federal gas tax through September to put money back in families’ pockets. It also protects funding for roads and bridges and will hold oil companies accountable if they don’t pass these savings along to consumers. Let’s pass it this week.

Claim sharks are ripping off veterans under the guise of helping them access their earned benefits, and are now using robocallers to do it. It’s outrageous, and I’ve been leading the fight to put a stop to it. Read about my legislation to do just that. ⬇️ npr.org/2026/05/04/nx-…
