Huntavirus, a horrible disease contracted from rodent feces/urine, caused Betsy Arakawa to die on 2/11. She was dead in the home for about a week before Gene Hackman died. Gene had advanced Alzheimers and likely did not even know she was dead. Gene died of complications resulting from his heart condition/kidney failure. He was in A-Fib on 2/18. They were discovered 2/26. Their dog, Zinna, did not die of Huntavirus. Dogs don't contract it. (I believe Zinna died of dehydration and lack of food in that crate). This is so very tragic.... Rest in Peace Gene and Betsy. #Genehackman
