The Crab Chain was initially launched as a test network for Darwinia, but with the Darwinia mainnet now stable, maintaining a separate testnet is no longer necessary. The proposal aims to end support for the Crab testnet due to reduced testing demand, high maintenance costs, and the need for financial optimization. The long-term fate of the Crab testnet will be determined by its governance module. If approved, all support for the Darwinia ⇄ Crab bridge will end one month after the proposal passes.
