Founders spending R10k/mo on HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Calendly, and 4 other tools you’re renting your entire business. One engineer can build that stack for you permanently. Own your infrastructure

Most businesses have a great reputation and a terrible digital presence. The clients they’ve earned over years have no idea how to find them online. That’s the gap I spend most of my time closing

Most website contact forms fire and disappear into an inbox. No automated follow-up. No attribution. No way to know which page or channel generated the enquiry. For a business spending money on ads, that’s guessing with real money.

Built a trading system this year that processes 100M ticks in under 2 seconds. Most fintech infrastructure problems aren’t engineering problems. They’re architecture problems. Get the architecture right first.

A property firm managing 540 rental units with no live listings on their website. Someone searching “apartment to rent in Sea Point” will never find them. That’s not a marketing problem. That’s an infrastructure problem. Different fix.

21 years old. Cold calling directors twice my age. The only edge I have is doing more preparation than they’d expect. Specifics open doors. Vague doesn’t.

The hardest part of building a service business is earning trust. Most businesses have already done that. The gap is usually the infrastructure that converts that trust into leads.

built a backtester that processes 100M ticks in under 2 seconds. the hard part wasn’t the speed. it was making sure the win rate wasn’t lying. lookahead bias kills more strategies than bad entries ever will.

most dev shops can’t run ads. most agencies can’t build software. so you hire two vendors, pay two invoices, and spend half your time in the middle translating. that’s the problem we exist to fix.

your pixel fires on page load. your ad platform thinks everyone’s a customer. you scale spend. CAC climbs. you blame creative. it’s not the creative.

Spent today auditing 6 SA startup websites. Common pattern: — No conversion tracking — CTAs buried below the fold — Paid ads running to a homepage You’re not losing to competitors. You’re losing to your own funnel.

Most SaaS sites load 15+ third-party scripts. Each one is a conversion leak. Server side tracking fixes this. Your pixel shouldn’t depend on the user’s browser.

A founder booked a call with me this week after one DM. No follow-up needed. The message worked because it named a specific gap in their pipeline — not because it was clever.

The South African startup ecosystem will make you feel like you’re a failure if you don’t understand that the system is broken not your ideas. The lack of funding models means that the government would rather frustrate and force its most creative people into 9-5s than to unleash and harness that creativity in order to leverage other markets. It’s wild to me because where must all these jobs come from?

The founders who respond to cold DMs aren’t responding to the pitch. They’re responding to the fact that you clearly looked at their business before sending it.

The best outreach DM I ever sent started with fetching the founder’s website and finding a broken CTA. Specificity beats templates every time.

@linda_mot Private angel investors are rare the best way is to look for clients and aggressively market to your target markets

If you're building a tech startup, just go to private angel investors otherwise you'll be back on LinkedIn looking for a job. Those government enterprise development agencies have gatekeepers who refuse to uplift fellow darkie because of whatever stupid reasons they may have.

Start a fintech and see how much funding you get. Payday loans and pay later? You’re golden.
