@UsforThemUK @PayPal @PayPalUK I closed my PayPal account and made it very clear to them, why. I will never use @PayPal again. We need to make institutions that flex undemocratic power, irrelevant.

🚨🚨PayPal - A cautionary tale to woke financial institutions: We were debanked by PayPal Europe in Sept 22 with no explanation given. Despite our submitting a data subject access request weeks ago @PayPal @PayPalUK has failed to explain why it debanked us, as reported in today’s @Telegraph. Its response to our DSAR implies it holds nothing on file about its decision to debank or its subsequent u-turn under pressure from press and the Business Secretary. It seems highly unlikely that there are no internal comms or records of the cancellation. So this is almost certainly a breach of UK legal and regulatory requirements. At the same time, PayPal Europe is currently applying for a permanent licence to do business in the UK, as part of which it must show that it can and will comply with UK legal and regulatory requirements. If Paypal cannot fully justify its actions, we call on @TheFCA to DENY its application. Gave @PayPalUK another try, within 2 months I've already been scammed with no support from paypal (and even a £12 fee for the privilege). Definitely done with these scumbags now
