Observing the situation around Greenland, I have a strong sense of déjà vu - we’ve seen and heard this before. It reminds me of 2014 and Crimea. Let's recall and compare. ▪️ Security and protection: In 2014, Russia claimed that without Crimea, it was impossible to ensure the security of Russia. ▪️ In 2014, Putin spoke about the threat posed by (non-existent) NATO bases in Crimea. ▪️ Putin said he wanted to protect the population in Crimea and that it would be in their best interest to be under the Russian flag. ▪️ Russia appealed to historical narratives to justify its territorial claims. This has always been characteristic of Russian rhetoric - references to territorial rights based on "historical justice," to mythical military valor, and the use of World War II terminology and myths, including labeling Ukrainians as Nazis - are favorite tools of Russian propaganda. Unexpectedly, similar tactics are now beginning to appear on the part of the United States: the myth of a "right" to Greenland based on the U.S. role in defending the island during World War II, and the questioning of the legitimacy of Danish colonial sovereignty over Greenland. In 2014, Putin did not want to see or discuss alternative options. Regarding Greenland, it is undoubtedly important to have discussions and explore alternatives. The situation with Greenland is, first and foremost, a challenge for Europe. The world has changed, and the West is changing as well. A major question is whether Europe can exist as an independent power - not only economically, but also politically and militarily. Ukraine is part of Europe. We live in a time of existential challenges. Practical actions are needed in response.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen: The discussions focused on how to ensure long-term security in Greenland. And here, our perspectives continue to differ, I must say. The President has made his view clear, and we have a different position. It’s not resolved. We didn’t manage it. But, honestly speaking, I didn’t believe that was doable. We didn’t manage to change the American position. It’s clear that the President has this wish of conquering Greenland. We made it very, very clear that this is not in the interest of the Kingdom. For us, ideas that would not respect the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the right of self-determination of the Greenlandic people are, of course, totally unacceptable. Therefore, we still have a fundamental disagreement, but we also agree to disagree. We will, however, continue to talk. We have decided to form a high-level working group to explore whether we can find a common way forward. And we want to work closely with the U.S., but it must, of course, be a respectful kind of cooperation.

The Danish Ministry of Defence is framing Denmark's upcoming military presence in Greenland as a "training exercise" — not defensive action towards the United States. @shanesmith30 and Andrew Callaghan from @Channel5iveNews are live in Denmark speaking to officials and citizens firsthand.

I agree, but it is what it is; the European nations with large white majorities are small, weak, and geopolitically irrelevant. The EU is a womanish organization. I am against war in Ukraine for this reason; we need Russia as a geopolitical partner. Germany could have aligned itself with Russia, selling its technical knowhow for resources, but Germany is controlled by women and weak men, and by Neocons in the US.

European nationalists resentful of Trump fail to understand that America and Russia are the only remaining Western (or majority-white) nations with geopolitical power. European male elites are thoroughly emasculated. If Trump does not impose military control over Greenland, the Danes will eventually allow China to colonize it. The Chinese know that Europeans have meekly accepted Islam as an official religion, and that the best way to begin taking Greenland is to position China as a "near-Arctic state" interested in its vast ice sheet as a prime site for studying global warming, sea-level rise, and glacial dynamics-------WHILE pushing the BeiDou-2 Navigation Satellite System, which aims to establish ground stations in the Arctic (including Greenland, Norway, and Sweden) to optimize signals, track satellites, and improve precision for shipping routes and military navigation.

@dr_duchesne The share of non-Hispanic whites in the U.S. is about 57% today. In roughly 20 years, it will fall below 50%. Calling the U.S. a “white country” is already standing on shaky ground — especially since “white guilt” is an American export.

@dr_duchesne “ America and Russia are the only remaining Western (or majority-white)” It’s just incredible how brainwashed Americans are — the US is less than 50% White - since you count even Arabs or Yemeni as White. And Russia- is a land of Mongrels . Your such idiots

Germany's Merz: Russia is a European country, our largest neighbor. If we succeed, in the longer term, in once again finding a balance with Russia—if peace prevails, if freedom is guaranteed—if we succeed in all of this, ladies and gentlemen, then the European Union, and we in the Federal Republic of Germany as well, will have passed another major test. I wish this for us.

🇩🇰🇬🇱❌🇺🇸 Leader of the Nationalist Danish People's Party Morten Messerschmidt: I cannot understand and see the wisdom in inviting oneself to meetings with a nation that threatens Denmark. @VICENews Denmark has a far stronger claim to Greenland than the US has to America. Norse settlers were present in Greenland over 1,000 years ago; Americans have inhabited what is now the U.S. for barely 1/3 of that time And what about the Inuit of Alaska? When they get their land back?
