Morning everyone, a beautiful, cold start to the day.

@thinkdefence @HIOWAA @AirAmbulancesUK No all well on this occasion but if we had decided to convey a patient, it would have been difficult to load someone. Tall grass can hide objects/obstacles which could damage the underside of the aircraft, hence the risk.

@Hems_Pilot @HIOWAA @AirAmbulancesUK Great photos, did it cause any problems in the end?

Sometimes it’s only after you land that you realise what looked OK from 500 feet is actually a bit of a jungle.

@HEMS_Driver @HIOWAA @AirAmbulancesUK Yep, these sites are only taken when there is little choice, prompting the debate over landing further away in a better site with longer response time vs the risk of landing closer in a sub-optimal one with a quicker response time. Nothing is ever easy.

@Hems_Pilot @HIOWAA @AirAmbulancesUK I worry about puncturing the fuel tanks in this situation. 😬 So much, that I use it as one of my scenarios during sim week 👍

@W0KE_JB @HIOWAA You’re almost there. Grid on the left, take off & land times, fuel contents below the landing time, and refuel amount on the right. The other figures on the right are engine figures for daily power checks.

@Hems_Pilot @HIOWAA Trying to figure out what it all means 🤣. Grid reference on left, then take off and landing times (toward job on top and outward below) with outbound tracks below them? Then either frequencies or fuel to the right?

We had a really busy day yesterday, responding to 5 jobs across the county and Island. Transported 2 patients by air to hospital. It’s not often that I fill a page on my knee board. Thankfully midday was free for lunch.
