@the3million Trying to update my passport on my settled status. 1 month later they tell me that the name don't match. Called and they acknowledge the error. Cannot however fix it and it goes into the ether of bureaucracy with no timeline for resolution. In the meantime - HOW DO I GET BACK IN?

@swardley To be honest, telecoms have the habit to miss the boat. Social media should have emerged from the telecom industry until Twitter and then the others caught them asleep at the wheel, relegating to carrier utilities ever since.

Anyway, the main future areas left for telco these days are in edge wireless networks / mesh networks - the glue between "outer space" and "inner space" (i.e. inside buildings) - and real estate. The change will take time, naturally.

It amazes me that the most important metrics (lines of code, story points, cycle time, devex satisfaction) in development are the two that are never discussed, let alone measured ... mean time to answer (mttA) and mean time to question (mttQ).

@swardley Isn’t TDD / BDD already a way of micro documenting a system (done well)? Agreed that it is not done well, if at all. Tech debt is not about tech, it is about operational debt of management practices. Laziness is at the centre of it, thinking that AI will fix it appeals to Lazy
