Coach Schmidt led SBU on a remarkable run that likely won’t be duplicated. Disheartening to see his departure unfold this way, yet mishandled SBU exits are an age-old issue. With some perplexing decisions the past 18–20 months, it appears to be a rudderless ship adrift at sea.

Breaking News: Sources tell me that St. Bonaventure is expected to relieve head coach Mark Schmidt of his duties at the end of the season. Schmidt was hired by the program in 2007 and has led the school to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
