It's a terribly sad day for Australia with the passing of Neale Daniher. Neale was a truly remarkable, courageous advocate who dedicated himself to raising awareness and improving treatment of motor neurone disease. Through his determination and generosity of spirit, he brought national attention to this devastating illness, changing countless lives with his efforts. I was privileged to meet Neale on several occasions through his outstanding advocacy work with Fight MND, as a member of the Kooyong community, and as the 2025 Australian of the Year. On behalf of our community I thank his family for sharing him with us during his extraordinary contribution to advancing medical research, and send them our love and deep sympathy.
