Unearthed Epstein emails reveal GOP Senate candidate John Sununu traveled to Qatar in 2001 and 2010. Sununu previously denied ever having traveled to Qatar, despite Epstein saying "sununu has good stories" about Qatar.

For years, The Joe Rogan Experience has been pushed as insightful or worthwhile listening. It isn’t. Rogan has built an empire on giving a mic to antisemites, conspiracy peddlers, and intellectual frauds. He may be wildly popular. That doesn’t make him wise or thoughtful.

@PeterRB1965 @AshleyRParker She missed it entirely, that animal went there to murder a very popular Democratic State Senator Clementa Pinckney but that was lost on Ashley because she was on the access beat

@AshleyRParker You realize you wrote an amusing anecdote about a dress without once mentioning that nine people had been brutally murdered in the Mother Emmanuel shooting. You should write a follow up about the dangers of losing perspective.

Like anyone who’s spent any time around politics, I have many Lindsey Graham stories. This is perhaps my favorite… I was covering Congress (Best! Beat! Ever!) for the NYT when the Mother Emanuel shooting happened in Charleston. It was summer, but I was wearing pants and a sweater that day because it was always SO freezing in the Capitol. Anyhow, news of the shooting came down, and the DC Bureau chief called me with an order: Get yourself to Charleston ASAP and glue yourself to Graham’s side. She wanted a piece on the senator grappling with the unimaginable. So I headed straight to the airport, arriving in Charleston with just my backpack and what I’d be wearing to work that day, and linked up with Graham. He had me meet him at a restaurant, where I told him I needed to shadow him for the next 48 hours. And he looked at me, with amused distaste, and said: “You are sticky. And you are icky. If you want to shadow me, go buy some nice new clothes—maybe a dress—and take a shower, and then we’ll talk.” (He was not wrong; I was sweaty and gross). So I drove to a local big box store, bought a dress (he seemed to have a strong preference for a dress), and spent the next few days with him, resulting in this piece (which, for reasons not worth getting into, ended up being fairly different than the original assignment): nytimes.com/2015/06/20/us/…

Appointing Lindsey Graham’s sister — who by any metric is woefully unqualified— is genuinely fucking insane. Being a senator is not a lordship. He wasn’t the goddamn Lord of Riverrun. Why can’t Republicans be serious about anything?

36-year-old Kirby Puckett held a press conference at the Metrodome to officially announce his retirement on this date in 1996. Cleveland happened to be in town, and Dennis Martinez attended the press conference. Puckett had been hit in the face by a Martinez fastball at the Metrodome in what turned out to be Puckett’s final regular season plate appearance on September 28, 1995. Puckett appeared poised for a big season in 1996, batting .344 in spring training when he woke up on the final day of camp unable to see out of his right eye. He was diagnosed with glaucoma (unrelated to the season-ending hit-by-pitch), and placed on the Injured List for the first time in his career. Four surgeries did nothing to improve his vision before he officially announced his retirement.

As with many elected officials I protected for nearly two decades as a police officer, my interactions with him were limited, I do remember when he and I were alone in a elevator and he pretended he didn’t know who I was after my congregational testimony. I will never forget his betrayal to me and my colleagues.

My UFC credential has already been revoked so I’ve got nothing to lose. Here’s the truth: Conor & team informed Dana earlier in the week that he had a knee injury. Dana told them the show MUST go on. No refunds. Because of the financial implications McGregor was forced to try. People inside became aware that McGregor was comprised, and THAT’S why the betting line moved significantly prior to walkouts. But since in excess of 80% + of the bets AND money legally wagered were on McGregor, this allowed the UFC’s sportsbook partners to win tens of millions in profit from unsuspecting (and uninformed) customers. Shameful and disgusting business practice for the sake of pure greed, all at the expense of their own fans.

Ro and I visited the destroyed village of Zanuta and the site of an EU-funded school that got burned down by settlers. It was here that we got intercepted and captured by settlers wielding American-made rifles. The IDF showed up to back up the settlers, not the U.S. congressman.

Originally, the studio & John McTiernan were thinking about casting Richard Gere for the role of John McCLane in "Die Hard" (1988). Richard Gere rejected it as he had no interest in the project despite the studio willing to offer $ 5 M more than his proposed salary. Bruce Willis was then cast in the role. There was very little preparation time & the script of the movie was only 35 pages long when the filming began. They had to make up things as the filming went on. McTiernan encouraged the actors to come up with their own dialogue and make changes to their characters as they thought fit. McTiernan loved the "Creative environment" & he said, "A lot of the better lines just happened on the set." ("The Directors: Take Two", Robert J. Emery, 2002 & "The iconic role Richard Gere refused to play: “He had no interest in the project”, Scott Campbell, 2025) P.S: On this day, 38 years ago, "Die Hard" (1988) premiered in Westwood, California, USA.
