Ik zeg niet dat het slecht gaat aan onze universiteiten. Maar vrijmoedigheid en vrijheid van meningsuiting blijven wel aandachtspunten. Ik besef dat ik sommigen boos maak door dat te zeggen, maar dat is juist het probleem.

Er zijn in 2026 ongeveer 150 duikboten aangedreven door een kernreactor. Klein, compact en veilig. Zowel USA , Rusland ,China, Frankrijk en UK hebben de technologie. In 2028, you’re going to have Artemis IV, which will actually land NASA astronauts on the moon. In parallel, we’re building the moon base. Starting in early 2027, you are going to see robotic uncrewed landings on a nearly monthly cadence... building the base so when the astronauts arrive, they have a lot of equipment to work with.”

Fun fact: The main engine behind this boost flew before on six Space Shuttle Atlantis missions. The European Service Module has 33 engines, but this is the only one capable of sending the Orion spacecraft towards the Moon, some 380 000 kilometres away.

Een universiteit moet wel bakens verzetten en ideeēn (ook verwerpelijke) durven bloot te stellen aan de strengste toets van argument en bewijs. Anders vervangt men wetenschap door conformisme.

BREAKING🚨: The Artemis II astronauts will go through the most tense moment of the mission on April 6, 2026. This is the highlight of the entire mission. The Orion will pass between 6,400 and 9,600 kilometers above the lunar surface. But there's a detail that makes this moment even more intense: as it passes over the far side of the Moon, the spacecraft will lose communication with Earth for about 30 to 50 minutes, blocked by the Moon itself. "For the 45 minutes when we'll be closest to the lunar surface, we'll also be out of contact," said Victor Glover, the mission's pilot. "I'd love for the whole world to be cheering and praying for us to reestablish the signal." During that time, the astronauts will photograph and observe regions of the Moon's far side that have never been seen by human eyes. The crew will also attempt to capture new images of the so-called Earthrise, the planet emerging over the desolate lunar surface.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Seymour Hersh, the journalist who correctly predicted the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities and broke the Nord Stream story, says Trump's speech was a ground war announcement: "Trump was telling the world that the ground war is on as of today. Thousands of Navy SEALs and Army Rangers are either en route or soon will be to zones within striking range of the Strait of Hormuz." He says Trump could have 50,000 fighters ready to clear the Strait or dig out enriched uranium from tunnels under the nuclear sites. Hersh has one of the best track records in investigative journalism. He doesn't say things like this casually. If he's right, then Trump's speech wasn't about ending the war. Gisteren keurde het Vlaams Parlement ETS2 goed. Daardoor zal elk gezin jaarlijks 650 euro moeten betalen aan een koolstoftaks. Twee weken geleden sprak de voorzitter van N-VA zich nog uit tegen deze maatregel, maar gisteren keurden alle N-VA-parlementsleden het voorstel goed. Hoe hypocriet kan je zijn? Wie scherp toekijkt, merkt dat de tijden veranderen. Ook universiteiten en media kunnen moeilijk anders dan opener en pluralistischer worden. Het monopolie van de 'juiste mening' is niet langer houdbaar. De periode 2019-2023 (met moralisme over klimaat, corona, woke) is voorbij.

Enkele decennia geleden was er aan de universiteiten meer ruimte voor vrijheid van meningsuiting dan in de kerk. Vandaag is het andersom. In mijn jonge jaren zou ik die evolutie nooit voor mogelijk hebben gehouden.
