Folks, Obviously some people are disappointed that we don't ship No Rest for the Wicked in October day and date on Xbox and Switch 2 as well. Since the rumor mill is already going wild on us having accepted some exclusivity deal or something... Folks, chill, none of that is the case. We've spent months assessing what it takes to ship Wicked at the quality level we expect on each platform. PC, Steam Deck and PS5 are where we're confident we can deliver the experience we want for our October launch. On Xbox Series S and Switch 2, more hardcore optimizations are required mainly due to the smaller memory budget there. Wicked is constantly simulating and streaming a living, breathing world in the background, loading and unloading huge amounts of data as you play. Every megabyte matters. We're not in the business of shipping shoddy ports. We were always insanely proud of being able to ship BOTH Ori games on Switch at 60fps, no compromises. But that took time - and the same thing is true here. Our goal is simple: Wherever you play Wicked, it should feel amazing. We know what's required to get there, and we're continuing that work. No Rest for the Wicked is coming to all current platforms. We just want to make sure that when it arrives, it's the best version it can possibly be 👍

Nintendo Prime is reporting Nintendo will be showing up with something at Friday's Summer Game Fest. Chris Dring is also reporting Nintendo will be at SGF. Nintendo usually doesn't show anything at the SGF so it will be interesting to see what happens if true.

ANNOUNCEMENT Balancing a full-time job with game dev interviews is incredibly taxing and I am increasingly getting more and more burned out, not to mention what it's costing me in my personal life. After 6 years doing this I've come to realise that what I am doing isn't sustainable and financially it's asinine, I don't do it for the money obviously, there are way more lucrative ventures I could pursue if all I cared about was money and I love speaking with devs and I have formed some great friendships from it but some interviews I've made as little as $10NZD from it, given the amount of time I put into them it's roughly $1 an hour or less. I am currently evaluating things with the channel and whether I stop interviews altogether, dramatically cut back on them or only do them with the big names e.g Naughty Dog, Rockstar etc. Another option is doing a weekly livestream covering gaming news with a certain prestigious game dev who put his hand up to co-host it with me and we could bring in other devs as guests on from time to time. Once I get back from India, I will make a more definite decision as to what I will do going forward, it's something I want to take my time dwelling on before I make a final decision (Any interviews already in the pipeline I will continue with though no matter what.) Thanks to everyone who has ever watched my interviews, liked, commented (good or bad), shared them and especially to my Patreon/YouTube Members (you have no idea how much of a lifeline you have been.) and of course the devs themselves. 🙏 Watch this space.

Today's launch for Stray on Nintendo Switch 2 was intended to have a 100% owners discount for those who already own Stray digitally on Switch 1 (excluding Japan). Just to put this into perspective, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold around half a million units in Japan since the price increase was announced (So expect sales to plummet next week). I won't comment on PS5, because... look at it.
