The average grifter is unlikely to break into billionaire status. I'm not saying that there aren't any unethical billionaires involved in horrific rent seeking and blackmail networks. However, fraud is more likely to create thousandaires and millionaires than billionaires. That might be why some people want us to focus on billionaires. Most of us would not easily understand billionaire assets, so it's a good way to keep us busy. However, there are quit a few of us that can see the whole blueprint for how someone makes a cool million off of fraud, slush funds and book cooking.

This is not sustainable. Plutarch warned us 2,000 years ago that the imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics. We have got to democratize our economy so that it works for all.

He's not just "sitting on it" though. His wealth brings value to other people. The wealthy shouldn't get tax breaks that the rest of us don't get, but why do I feel like the real goal here is tax the wealthy for the benefit of other wealthy people (in government or government adjacent roles).
