Guy’s getting a lot of grief but he’s right. USA is largely unique in tying youth sport to education so tightly. Anywhere else, you go to school and apart from that train at your chosen sport separately. We’re behind here in the states and this reality is just us catching up.

@anymanfitness You’re super over the target on this. The landscape has changed. People can not like it, but it’s a uniquely USA dislike. Athletics being tethered to secondary schools is not the norm in most countries and athletes are training year round at one sport.

Bad news, dude: If your kid doesn’t play travel/AAU they have no chance of playing varsity in high school. Only exceptions would be small, rural schools without many players to choose from. Any decent sized high school, every kid on varsity plays travel.

@bwfast As far as sports go, this is absolutely a hill to die on. I’d go further and suggest all US sports need promotion/relegation implemented.

@HeyCoachBart @RobMKendall Thank you Coach Bart! Nothing more painful than losing a child, especially to something as foolish as drugs. Jeff promised me he would do what he could to change the law on abandoning a dead or dying person, as well as making changes to repeat drug dealers getting no time in jail

The only person who’s been able to consistently piss off and put a thumb in the eye of the Brownsburg School System and still win is me. With any luck, after Tuesday we can add Jeff Thompson to the graveyard of politicians BCSC has buried over the years.

@FentanylSucks @RobMKendall I’m so sorry to read this and for you. As a dad myself, just Heartbreaking. I feel like politicians like Jeff get in and stay so long they think it’s their birthright, and they stop listening to real people like us.

Every since he gave me false hope and empty promises, after my youngest daughter died of Fentanyl, he never responds to me. He has lost his way......

@MaxLewisTV It’s still scheduled to go on thru the year. The funding end would be after the 2026 calendar. The Westfield tournament remains unchanged for now. As do the the now unfortunate “home of LIV Golf” signs when entering into town.

What does this mean for the LIV tournament at Chatham Hills in Westfield? The WSJ says funding won't end until the end of this season, but should the city invest in something that may not exist next year?

Luke Falk shared a Mike Leach story that stopped me cold: Two kids. One rich. One poor. Every training camp, Coach Leach told his team about these 2 kids. The rich kid has two choices. Get soft. Get entitled. Expect everything handed to him because he was handed more. Or take the resources, the coaching, the opportunities, and compound them into something greater. The poor kid has two choices too. Say nobody gave him anything. Blame the world. Make his circumstances the reason he never became what he could have been. Or outwork everyone in the room. Luke said the locker room had both. Kids from wealth. Kids from nothing. Kids with every advantage. Kids who scraped for every inch. Same choice for all of them. Ownership or victimhood. Fuel or excuse. The rich kid can waste the head start or build on it. The poor kid can drown in the deficit or weaponize it. Greatness doesn't come from where you start.
