@LizHearnPharmD Maybe my first job night shift CC/ED?No one awake to even help so I had to get comfortable figuring it out🥴 I tell learners if they leave my rotation w/anything I hope it’s being comfortable saying “idk, let me look into that” & I hope they note I say that every. single. day.

An IPPE student asked me when I finally “felt” like a pharmacist. She may have been shocked to hear it was long after graduation day, licensure day, and first day on the job 😂 Curious when my #TwitteRx friends finally had that “I can do this, I’m a pharmacist” feeling?

Being on service all the time in addition to all the “extra curricular” expectations is exhausting! Wish we could move to contracted shifts like our physician colleagues to buy down shift time with other activities like QI/precepting/research.

Another one of my colleagues took a nice, cushy MSL job and I just met a new staff pharmacist at my 🏥 who is PGY2 CC-trained and doesn’t WANT to do clinical anymore. At 36, I’m now the “old” one amongst our clinical pharmacist. It’s led me to reflect on why that is. A 🧵: (1/)

@ChillaPharmD We don’t dispense directly from ADC bc we’re on consignment from supplier. But we did recently start a process where our ED PharmD pulls from the consignment fridge in main pharm and we mix at bedside. It’s been a game changer! We round to nearest vial size.

@tjelle13 Last night was a fun game of bed traffic Rearranged rooms 4 and 6 to hold 4 each, bunk beds in 7 and 8. Almost had an intubated trauma in 5 hall. Lots of creativity to accommodate the surge 🤪

Just started shift. There are 4 people skillfully arranged in the space that was bed 4. Ugggh!
