IEYDA Raises Concerns Over Alaafin’s Visit to Ilorin Emirate Communities, Urges Respect for Traditional Protocols The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has expressed concern over the recent visit of the Alaafin of Oyo to communities within the Ilorin Emirate, describing it as a breach of established traditional protocols. In a statement jointly signed by its National President, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo, and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin and made available to Just Event Online TV, the association alleged that the visit to Shao and Jebba communities in Moro Local Government Area occurred without prior notification or approval from the Emir of Ilorin. IEYDA described the development as a disregard for the authority and position of the Emir of Ilorin, who also serves as Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Emirs, Obas and Chiefs. The group further characterised the visit as an intrusion into the Emirate’s domain, stressing that established customs require due consultation and adherence to protocol before such engagements can take place. According to the association, it could not recall a similar instance where the Emir of Ilorin or any other traditional ruler visited territories under the Alaafin without proper notification, warning that such actions could generate unnecessary tension, particularly in communities with sensitive traditional structures. The association, however, called for calm and urged relevant authorities, including the Kwara State Government led by Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Oyo State Government under Seyi Makinde, and security agencies to intervene and prevent any escalation. IEYDA emphasized the need for mutual respect among traditional institutions, noting that Kwara State and the Ilorin Emirate are historically known for peaceful coexistence. While advocating dialogue and understanding, the group urged the Alaafin to exercise caution in future engagements to avoid actions that could strain inter-community relations. The association reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, and stability, adding that it has continued to counsel restraint among youths in the Emirate despite growing concerns. IEYDA called on all stakeholders to act responsibly in the interest of maintaining harmony and preventing avoidable disputes.

@egi_nupe 90% of these people backed that clown in 2023 and would do so again in 2027. Imagine finding yourself aligned with such murderous incels on something as important as voting for a president. Nothing tells you you're on the wrong side more than this. I pray BAT loses there again.

If you don’t take alcohol and all these packaged drinks, you don’t know what God is saving you from; and this is not because of religion but these greedy, selfish and evil people who have been making millions from adulterated and fake drinks. Even fake drugs, they have been making billions of money from it. Thats why I only patronize highly reputable hospitals and pharmacies, no matter how expensive, who wouldn’t think of getting their medications from these criminals. For drinks, if it’s not home made zobo and smoothies, you won’t see me there. May God protect us from these evil doers, who are determined to eliminate us by all means possible just because of their greed for money.

If I were Prof, I won’t contest the primaries against my political benefactor. I won’t throw shades at him at campaign ground and I will use my position to make sure that my political benefactor did not only secure the ticket but I will also not go quietly after the primary election, I will continue to openly campaign and support him even after the election and for his reelection. That’s how to pay back someone who lifted you into the national stage and the number 2 position in the country. I guess we have different ways of paying back our benefactors.
Cinderella Man@Osi_Suave

Same Yemi Osinbanjo or is there another one. Because how is Prof and Rauf in the same conversation? Prof contested and lost the primaries, and quietly went back to his private life. You are comparing him to what Rauf is currently doing????

@MosesOgheneoch4 @HeyyElvis @SERAPNigeria Rivers state budget for 2025 was #1.485trillion. spending #302 billion in 6 months amount to less than 25% of the total budget for the year. Except the purpose of budget is to save the entire fund, else, the focus should be on what the fund were spent on instead of why.

@nolanichyme @jeffphilips1 Of course it's the right thing to do but not the only thing to do. As a private entity, would you invest $100million in a place knowing the average monthly income of the people is $100? How many years will it take you to break even? Purchasing power needs to improve fast.

This is not how to measure and compare the cost of electricity usage. The question is, how many kwh is involved in these two scenarios? In essence, the cost per kwh in these two countries determines the one who pays higher or lower for electricity. This article tells us the cost of electricity for all utility companies in Australia. We can calculate how much 1000kwh usage, for example, for both countries with this if we assume you're on band A here which is the highest in Nigeria. ecoflow.com/au/blog/cost-o…
Cross˚@Elkrosmediahub

My younger brother pays an average of 160AUD quarterly for constant electricity in Australia. Thats about N153,000 every 3months. I currently spend an average of N200,000 every month on electricity, and it is only constant because my estate backs it up with generators. You guys should stop bothering to respond to that imp of a boy. He thrives on rage baiting y’all. Make him irrelevant by ignoring his folly.

I believe the right leadership can transform a nation’s mindset and habits. Lee Kuan Yew proved it in Singapore turning a place once plagued by littering, spitting, and public misbehavior into one of the cleanest cities on earth. We just haven’t had that kind of transformative leader yet.
Ombudsperson@Maiyour99

Men with mindset like those men are in every nook and cranny throughout Nigeria. Those men can't be fixed at this point and even with a good government, having a sane society will be very HARD. One way to fix this? Massive, quality and compulsory education from the primary level.
