It's not perfect yet, but it's a great start for a few hours of work. AI rewriting tool for spelling and grammar. I also added the ability to rewrite and confirm without taking your hands off the keyboard. Next step is to add it to the Chrome Store.

Thinking about building a Grammarly clone. Why? 1. I’ve used Grammarly all year for grammar, but still turned to ChatGPT for rewrites—didn’t even realize Grammarly did rewrites until just now. 2. They have 1,500 employees. I think I could build 80% of it in a weekend.

@alphaenu @cafreiman I never said a company is only profitable because of its exploitation of workers. But exploitation is a mechanism of maximizing profit. Capitalism doesn’t say “pay the laborer the value of the output of their labor” it says “pay the laborer as little as possible for more profit”

Just had an idea for an app: Every day you make a GitHub commit, your X display name updates with your streak count. Miss a day? We Duolingo you. Either pay $20 to keep the streak… or watch it die. Ship or shame.

BREAKING: Around 40% of Institutional Investors are now underweight US equities as per BofA research. Yesterday, JP Morgan reported that retail bought the dip at the highest level EVER with $4.1B of inflows within 3 hours. Now, 40% of institutions are underweight US equities which is the LOWEST allocation since May of 2023. It really is turning into retail vs institutions. Either institutions will eventually become equal/overweight equities & chase, or retail will have ended up buying into a rally that did not have the legs to hold its momentum. One of them will be right.

BREAKING: Retail investors bought the Moody’s dip today in record numbers, surpassing April volumes. As per JPMorgan data, retail investors bought $4.1B of stocks within the first three hours of the market being open today. The two biggest stocks? $PLTR & $TSLA. $TSLA = $675M of inflows $PLTR = $439M of inflows Single stocks were $2.5B of the purchases while ETFs comprised $1.5B.

if you don’t know how to code right now is the best time to be alive. you can go from a newbie to a intermediate dev in less than 3 months with the help of generative ai. no need for a tutor or course just sit down open Cursor and start writing code

I built a spreadsheet to track the price of award flights out of SFO. I posted it on reddit and it's popping off. In 18 hours it is the top post of the month in a subreddit of 400K+ and has 33K views. Idea validated ✅ reddit.com/r/awardtravel/…

A few weeks ago I bought a bunch of domains that were misspellings of biltrewards.com. The domains would then route you to my referral code. Since then I’ve gotten 3 referrals worth $150. Small, stupid idea. But it worked 🤷

@Timb03 @render I interviewed for a job at Render a few years ago and have been using them ever since. So simple, straightforward, and cheap.

Pallyy's (almost $1M ARR) backend costs $85/mo to run on @render. Here's why I've just moved everything from Azure to Render. *even though I've got $25K azure credits ➜ Zero learning curve Just recently I've hired my first employee, a developer. They weren't familiar with Azure so the learning process has been pretty steep. A process (deploying a docker to container then to an app service) that took us 2-3 days in Azure, literally took 10 minutes in Render. Render's UI is so simple it makes it so easy to learn how to use it, anyone can do it. ➜ Great UI Their UI is fast, you can move between pages at lightning speed. Compare this with azure (which is super slow) and it's an absolute dream. ➜ Better features for small start-ups Azure has everything yes, but it's in-depth. To get one system running you might need to deploy 4-5 services. With Render, the features are geared towards people like us. You can just deploy one service, and it has basically everything you need. ➜ More affordable Render is actually much cheaper than Azure, because when you're using Azure it's most likely overkill as they have a lot of features. Pallyy's main server costs $85/mo compared to about $150+ in Azure. ➜ I'm not affiliated with Render, but if you're just starting out I'd say 100% go with Render.
