@ninemarthas They can’t do behind the scenes stuff because half the male main cast are now considered sex pests, and the only non problematic man hated the poor treatment of staff so much that he refuses to engage with the tv show 😭 whereas tennant and billie still love it

I pray to God that @kirkneverdied makes a video to talk about what “filler” tv actually is. Too many people are throwing that term around to describe an episode of a show they dislike too loosely and it feels like people are just wanting a climax every episode!

@HiFive789_ @samloomis13 @FishFlicksFilms The term FILLER comes from the episodic era of television when there were mandatory episode counts You had to FILL an episode count no matter what. If your definition of filler requires that all or none episodic shows are filler your definition needs adjustment

@kirkneverdied @samloomis13 @FishFlicksFilms That's fair, but I never explicitely said it "doesn't have to tie to the bigger story", just "storylines" which is arguably more general than just "the main storylines" I would also argue that episodic shows without overarching stories are either all filler, or none.

@HiFive789_ @samloomis13 @FishFlicksFilms I wouldn’t even agree with that definition of filler episode. Because being a stand alone episode doesnt mean it’s filler. The idea that ever episode has to tie to a bigger story is a very modern concept for tv.

@samloomis13 @kirkneverdied @FishFlicksFilms Bottle episodes are episodes produced cheaply, with existing sets and only core cast members. Filler episodes are just episodes that have no relevance to the overall storylines, both narrative and character-wise.

@kirkneverdied @FishFlicksFilms I genuinely think filler episodes are important, not just from a business perspective but a character and worldbuilding perspective. Even if the episode didn't add to the characters or the world, it was still time spent with those characters and it made the world feel alive.

@FishFlicksFilms The concept of "Filler" tv barely even applies in the modern way TV shows are written and released. The idea of "Filler" tv goes back to decades past when TV shows had mandatory season episode counts. You had to FILL 20+ episodes whether you had 20 good ideas or not.
