@SPFLpyramid @OfficialCatchup @spfl @ScottishFA So very very obviously true - yet it's all an abject mess and has transparently been so on a very long term basis. Needn't be this way at all - obvious question why is it administered so horrifically badly?

No stranger to the licensing requirements but £200k is an insane amount for a tier 5 club to progress up one level. The governing bodies have completely lost sight of what the game should be about - improving quality on the pitch. Instead we're focusing on locations of dugouts.
Tranent FC@TranentFC

🇱🇻 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐂’𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐅𝐀 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Tranent FC stands at a defining moment in our journey. On the pitch, we continue to compete with ambition and belief. Off the pitch, we now face a crucial challenge - meeting the SFA Bronze Licence requirements, the standard needed to progress within the Scottish football pyramid. To reach that next level, we are launching this campaign to raise £200,000 - funding essential upgrades that will secure our future and unlock the next chapter of the club’s growth. Achieving Bronze Licence status requires significant investment in our facilities. Your contribution will directly support: 👷‍♂️ Pitch widening & groundwork To meet SFA standards, our playing surface must be expanded - requiring major groundwork and redevelopment. 🗺️ Relocation of dugouts & floodlights. With pitch expansion comes the need to reposition key infrastructure to maintain safety and compliance. 🪑 New 100-seat covered stand Providing essential seated accommodation while enhancing the matchday experience. 🇱🇻 400-capacity covered standing area. Supporting our growing fanbase and meeting licensing requirements. 💷 Professional financial audit. A mandatory step to ensure the club meets governance and sustainability standards. ‼️ These upgrades are not optional - they are essential for progression. This is about more than promotion. Achieving Bronze Licence status will: ▪️ Open the door to promotion opportunities ▪️ Secure the long-term future of the club ▪️ Improve facilities for supporters, players and the community ▪️ Inspire the next generation in East Lothian There are also sponsorship and naming right opportunities with the developments. Email treasurer@tranentfc.co.uk to discuss. Tranent FC is more than a football club - it’s a community, a source of pride, and a place where people come together. Every contribution makes a difference. You can support us by: 🗳️ Donating to the campaign 📲 Sharing with friends, family and local businesses 🫂 Encouraging others to get behind the club No matter the amount, your support brings us one step closer. Let’s Build the Future - Together 👊 We have the ambition. 🤝 We have the belief. 🫵 Now we need your support. Thank you for backing Tranent FC and helping us take the next step forward. 📲 Link to donate: bit.ly/428ccUY #TheBelters 🇱🇻 #LieForrit

@more_josh23 @OfficialCatchup That'll depend I imagine on the Hampden mood? Regulations seem clear enough, how rigidly they're applied is an altogether different matter it would very much appear.

@more_josh23 @OfficialCatchup Nail on head Josh. No need surely to be so utterly inflexibly "computer says no" rigid. Yet here we are - 2026 and we've wholesale unwillingness to compromise to contend with. Beats me how those responsible aren't as utterly embarrassed as they ought to be.

@OfficialCatchup @more_josh23 The cards are hugely stacked in favour of those higher in the structure. It's not remotely disguised, those responsible very evidently deem it wholly reasonable regardless of other views.

@HiHi1957 @more_josh23 It's a great point. Really is. A massive gamble for clubs to spend so much money with only one spot available for promotion. It's literally a lottery cos you need the squad to compete also, win your league, then play two other league champions then club 42.

📊 As our 2025/26 Lowland League campaign comes to a close, here’s a look at the final standings. Our victory on the final day saw us record our highest points total since promotion to the Lowland League in 2022. 🤝 Our previous best came in our first season at this level (2022/23), when we finished on 65 points. 🔙 Another strong campaign and plenty to build on for the next one! 🫡 #TheBelters 🇱🇻 #LieForrit

@thistlearchive @stuthejag First game I attended age 9. No recall of the colours peculiarity - do though remember McVie being red carded and the fact Colin McAdam debuted.

OTD: 07/12/1974 Two late goals from Jim Sivewright secured a 3-1 home victory for Meadowbank Thistle against Albion Rovers. Tom O'Rourke had scored Thistle's first earlier in the game, and it was John Bain's side's third consecutive win.
