@MidwestGolfJake My issue is on a medium level slope rating course low handicappers get cut a shot whilst higher handicappers gain a shot. Why should they get an extra 2 shots?? And in stablefords this is magnified even more

The golf handicap system is broken. If you're a really good player (2 or better) you have no chance playing in a Net game. But lucky for you, real golf (aka gross) exists! If you're like me, a mid single digit, you're stuck in the dead zone. You're not good enough to compete gross but you mostly get mashed playing Net. If you're a 10-15, the system is built for you and your sandbagging buttocks! Enjoy your hollow victories. If you're over 15, you're dangerous in a team event and good for you for keeping a handicap. My half-baked proposal is a rolling average of your last 20 scores, and if you're at 14 who shoots a 74 in a net event, congratulations you're stuck with that score for 5 years!
