Born Again S2 starts off feeling very much like the "solid" episodes of Born Again. Which, to me, lacked all the soul that made the Netflix show so special. It's doing so much leg work to de-sterilize the world, add back authentic grit and texture to the supporting characters that were purely exposition machines in S1, so certain moments and beats feel "off". The first few episodes had me scared that this series would continue to feel like damage control for bad boardroom choices. But... Once you hit the mid point, it completely evolves and morphs into, not just a love letter (blatant apology) to the original series (you guys won't believe me until you see it), but a new beast entirely. Setting the course for a completely new era that takes the best of old, while establishing a fresh path. Allowing the world and the characters to not just be stale imitations with too many limitations, but to be, truly, "Born Again". The back half had me smiling ear to ear. Expect a vague mostly non-spoiler video sometime in April.

A fun thing about filmmaker. There is this whole stigma around knowing your shit, "F/T "stop"... the fuck. You want to sound important, but an actor, your team, could not give less of a shit if you know the film school terminology. All that matters if truth. And truth is you.
