My Gramsy ran an indie children's bookstore from before I was born-2015, so I was blessed by a vast personal library of children's books. My knowledge of picture books since about 2008 is patchy though, so I'm working through Caldecott books from the last decade. Reviews below:

On top of that, spiteful, petty folks could allege that an athlete is transgender just because she's really good at her sport and they're mad their team has to face her or that she beat them at an event or something. It's a terrible bill!

For every trans person it might keep out of women's sports, it would subject dozens of women who have always identified as women to humiliation and exclusion. They could be targeted for having broad shoulders, strong jawlines, and other traditionally "unfeminine" traits.

I went to take off the "waterproof" cover off my mattress to wash it and the mattress is oozing a mysterious thick brown fluid and it turns out the mattress itself has fiberglass

@Hi_Im_Higham What I don't understand is that my previous chair which is about 6 years old none of the metal parts ever broke everything that broke was plastic or cloth. This is allegedly from the same company, just a newer model. I hate how manufacturing quality is changing

there is an astoundingly high population of adults in the United States who are native English speakers, but who quite literally cannot read beyond basic words and phrases. it's just that most of them have spent decades concealing it through elaborate shortcuts and guesswork

@ShelbyHintze I think it's really wild that so many people think that "trunk or treats are good" and "door-to-door trick or treating is good" are mutually exclusive. I think we should all be united behind "we like candy"

Kids are twice as likely to get hit by a car on Halloween. Disabled kids can’t get up to 99% of houses for trick or treating. Trunk or treats serve a purpose.
