But he didn’t. Because real character isn’t revealed when people are grateful… it’s revealed when they’re not. Not everyone will appreciate what you do. Some will disrespect it. Some will test you. A domestic disturbance call in Chatham, Illinois, quickly spiraled into a Taser deployment and a masterclass in the "Cycle of Abuse." ​The male subject, identified as Treyvon L. Smith, was arrested after officers responded to reports of a physical altercation between him and his girlfriend. Upon arrival, officers found the female victim with a bloody nose. While the story shifted several times—initially claiming he "tripped" her—she eventually admitted that Smith threw a vape at her face during an argument over alleged infidelity. ​ When officers informed Smith he was under arrest, he decided to test his luck on a narrow balcony. He refused to comply, pulled away, and became verbally aggressive, resulting in a Taser deployment to bring him into custody. ​ Despite her visible injuries, the woman immediately switched into protection mode. She began screaming that she didn't want him to go to jail, claimed she "started it," and even tried to recant her statement as he was being escorted away. ​ Smith was hauled off for Domestic Battery and Resisting a Peace Officer. ​Watching this play out is like watching a car wreck in slow motion. You can see the exact moment the victim's fear of him comes into view. It’s a textbook example of the trauma bond—she’s injured due to his actions, but she would rather go to jail then have him believe that she is pressing charges on him. This is clearly her fear of retaliation from him. ​Statistically, it takes an average of seven attempts for a victim to leave an abusive relationship for good. My money is on her taking him back that same day even though Illinois state law requires them to stay away from each other for 72 hours. It’s a frustrating cycle where the bodycam captures the truth, but the victim is too deep in the cycle to see it yet. Hopefully she breaks free from this guy before things progress further.

This wasn't a mistake; it was a calculated, horrific betrayal of innocence. Judge West didn't fall for the "reform" act. She saw the facts for what they were: pure evil. While he was already staring down 45 years in federal prison, Judge West made sure there was no light at the end of the tunnel. She denied his request for leniency and handed down a 75-year sentence. ​ ​No Mercy: He asked for probation; she gave him a lifetime behind bars. ​Accountability: The court called him exactly what he is. ​Safety: One less predator on the streets and off the web. ​Huge shoutout to Judge Raquel West for her backbone. I do not know if this is a sketch. A stepfather who raised a stepdaughter for 17 years and then out of all of the sudden the real father decide to show up and the mama sided with her daughter to take her daddy to the prom.. but the stepdaddy have to pay for everything. I have seen a few few cases like this.. I had a friend of mine who experienced similar. Was he wrong?.
