@athiestboi Even scripture is still hearsay. The best evidence is direct revelation

The Assumption of Mary was declared dogma by the Catholic Church in 1950, yet there is no clear Bible verse saying Mary was taken bodily into heaven. I believe doctrine should come from scripture, not later tradition. Questioning that does not make me an atheist.

I praise the court for their decision! Christians have no right to bully people who are already stressed! People can pray anywhere else, rather than in front of an abortion clinic! Keep your god damn imagined god away from people who don't want him!

BREAKING: 78-year-old pastor Clive Johnston has been convicted in Ireland for publicly reading the Bible verse John 3:16 The judge claims abortion-minded women could be influenced to choose life for their unborn babies. He made no direct mention of abortion. Pray for him 🙏

Many foreign friends say they like Japan’s easygoing public approach to religion. They visit shrines and temples while saying they are not religious at all. I understand the appeal. I once felt it myself before returning to the Church. A shrine or temple can be experienced as beauty, history, quiet, atmosphere, tradition, or “culture.” You can bow, clap, buy an amulet, take a photo, and still feel as if nothing very demanding has happened. I doubt most Japanese tourists visiting a Catholic cathedral in Europe would kneel or cross themselves so easily. Christianity is much harder to keep at that distance. It is more than atmosphere.

@arieffamilyman @timothyjphelan You should’ve told your friend that you don’t want to participate in any religious rites because you you have a different belief. It’s best to stay away from Japanese shrines and temples

@timothyjphelan Once, a friend invited me to a tourist attraction in the form of a temple (or shrine). He is a Hindu from Nepal and he did bowing, clapping his hands, and praying. As a Catholic, what should I do?

@timothyjphelan Religious observances and rituals of the Japanese is more often a tradition rather than true belief and zeal that are common in the abrahamic religions. I think it’s best to keep it that way. I think excessive zeal, just like too much patriotism, can lead to bigotry and hate.

Why did God put the apple in the garden if he knew it was bad? Remember he is all knowing!

@xonphused When the person turns 18, they can choose to be legally Christian. And they can be punished for violations of Old Testament laws.

@Ernest1588761 The world’s first sting operation was conceived in the Garden of Eden. The drugs were in plain sight, and a mindless teen was told by a mafia don how wonderful getting high can be 😂

Adam and Eve were setup to fail. How can you be guilty of a "bad" act when you literally don't have the hardware to know what "bad" is yet? God told them not to eat the fruit, but they needed to eat the fruit to understand that disobeying God was wrong.
