For decades our military has been planning and exercising this very operation. Even when Jack was a division commander in the nineties it was one of the war plans they practiced over and over. Now we are finally doing it for real. For the last twelve to fourteen days our forces have been systematically taking down Iran's ability to threaten shipping in that critical strait. We are eliminating their fast attack boats, neutralizing the sea mines, and destroying the drones and anti-ship missiles. Warships are conducting offensive and defensive operations, and now thirty countries have stepped up to help escort the shipping through. This is not some sudden reaction. It is pre-planned, well-rehearsed, and being executed with incredible precision. We are keeping the diplomatic channels open. But the message to Iran is simple. Comply and surrender those dangerous capabilities or we will take them away from you anyway. We know exactly who we are dealing with. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important arteries for global energy and trade. Iran tried to shut it down. Those days are over. The results are already outstanding with very low casualties on our side because we acted fast and smart. This is what real leadership and peace through strength delivers. It is working, and it is going to keep working!

According to CNN, Iran has reinforced Kharg Island with troops, air defenses, and mines, preparing for a potential US ground operation.
