Cerys did nothing wrong imo. Poor sportsmanship to gloat a victory before you even show how you have game. There's nothing wrong with celebrating a win, but to do so by throwing your headset down before your opponent even confirms a concession or you prove the win is immature and at a win-and-in for a regional, players should be held to a higher standard of clean play and sportsmanship.

@HieraZeus @Yakuruke Quality response there, definitely argued whatever your point is with that one.

Getting the cards you need to win doesn’t win the game, taking all 6 prizes does. Makani was 100% in the wrong here, and disrupting the board state, removing your headset and leaving the table BEFORE the game is over definitely warrants a game loss.

This was the pop off that warranted the game loss for reference. I have opinions about it lol

@HieraZeus @Yakuruke "You're a part of the problem", for what? Expecting people to be good sports and actually complete their game and respect their opponents?
Celebrate your win sure, but actually finish the game first.

@xiii_degrees @Gol_D_ego @Yakuruke bruh
are you literally retarded or just playing devils advocate. gtfo
makani got excited because he drew into the cards he needed for game.
did you even watch the stream?
English

@Gol_D_ego @HieraZeus @Yakuruke Even then the game at the streaming table isn't over unless the judge says it is.

@FishNugget4 LMAO
reminds of the time they called me a fire hazard because my chair was scooted out

Talked to two different head judges and they both said the issue wasn’t the board, the boardstate was easily repaired. They said the game loss was because what I did was “dangerous” and could’ve hurt someone or something. Not sure why this l

@HieraZeus Normalize acting professional and sportsmanly in games and not throwing equipment. Normalize winning before celebrating at all. What you want is gloating not celebrating. The call was objectively correct.
English

@xiii_degrees @Yakuruke if you cant see the line of play maybe you should get good
join another game
riftbound might suit your style
English

@HieraZeus @Yakuruke No, he's correct. While playing you are to be seated, if you get up it's over. When you're on stream, you are expected to act professional, and the headset has to stay on. He put down an ultra ball and didn't even resolve it before throwing the headset down and celebrating.

TPCI literally curates an environment designed to push player adrenaline to the limit. The stage, lights, audience, high stakes prizes, all being recorded in history forever.
IMO when players are stripped of titles or handed losses for showing genuine emotion in that environment, it starts to feel like they’re being treated as props for the broadcast rather than actual competitors.
English

Real question: can you even override a game loss decided by judges? Because if the answer is no, why are we blaming players for a system they don't control?
Also - people keep saying "competitive integrity" means playing the turn out to the very last prize card. But let’s be real, this 100% wouldn’t have been an issue at a table in the back of the room.
A player pops off for five seconds on stream, then goes back and finishes the interaction. Game over.
The only reason this became a "violation" is because TPCI treats their stream like a sanitized TV show. They want the hype of the big draw, but they punish the human reaction that comes with it. TPCI needs to decide if the stream is for celebrating the game or for enforcing corporate optics at the cost of the actual result.
This is why Pokémon TCG will never be a true e-sport.

THE LAST CARD 😱
Rowan Stavenow uses Flip the Script and finds Night Stretcher, activating Dusclops again to clear the board and tie up the set!

It was actually this past weekend at a cup. Faced a good buddy round 1 and lost the Crustle mirror and whiffed the e hammer and 4th ice cream. Then round 2 I hit Conkeldurr which was an auto loss. I walked out so fast and spent $80 on SUM-LOT stuff because this format is shit

What was your most "this is horseshit" TCG crashout moment? Mine had to have been encountering this combo in VIV expanded on TCGOne when I was getting back into the game.
