For firefighters, understanding this path is critical. A strong hydrant supply feeds the pump. The pump supports the FDC. The FDC supports the standpipe. And the standpipe delivers the water where it is needed most.

Simple idea. Big impact. When crews roll up, they shouldn’t be guessing where the truck goes or where the pump should be positioned. Understand apparatus placement and operational zones. Just as important, firefighters need to think about stream reach.
