@BraneShyant @KevinFungbar @Courtneyscoffs Alright that is a massive oversimplification on wildfire mitigation. The feds only own and manage 57% of forested lands. Do they need to do more? Absolutely. But that doesn’t mean California is doing much better at all. Reminder that the Palisades was state land.
English

@KevinFungbar @Courtneyscoffs The state of California owns 3% of the forest here. Almost every fire is from private land or because the incompetent federal government doesn’t know proper forest management. Seems like you don’t in fact know plenty about CA
English

Because it's dry as fuck and a fire would burn everything. I swear, people who know nothing about CA are the loudest to opine.
Wall Street Apes@WallStreetApes
American hiker shows that even in the middle of nowhere, just open land, California is still restricting basic camping “This is kind of crazy. I'm 350 miles away from Los Angeles right now — no overnight camping, campfires or stoves” “I don’t get it” Government is too big
English

@__leMel__ @i3lackwyrm @Courtneyscoffs Anything that can burn will (and does) burn. It’s much better if it’s a controlled burn in which it’ll regrow rather than getting turned to moon dust.
English

@i3lackwyrm @Courtneyscoffs In the desert?
A whole ecosystem relies on those shrubs.
English

@BoardergrlCa @BrendanF_Wendt @i3lackwyrm @Courtneyscoffs You’re not wrong but it’s also important to remember that the feds still follow CA air quality regulations regarding prescribed burns. Which are a nightmare to navigate and have been for a long time. Up until the Palisades fire they did barely anything.
English

@BrendanF_Wendt @i3lackwyrm @Courtneyscoffs lol. It blows my mind though that folks don’t know that ~45+% of CA is federal land. So Ca doesn’t have sole control or responsibility for land management or fires.
English

@stacarter @Courtneyscoffs Oh no they do. I’m assuming this is in the sierra nevada near the owen’s river in which is large amount of property is owned by LA as they use the river for the LA aqueduct.
English

@Courtneyscoffs I'm not sure if you are familiar with how maps and distances work. But his primary issue is that 350 miles from LA they are prohibiting access to land...that could in no way belong to LA because it is 350 FUCKING MILES from LA.
English

@angelicf4iry One person says something once and then everyone joins in. Nobody would bat an eye if it was said in person, but online? Everyone wants to be special.
English

mfs are saying that they never heard anyone call california CALI lmaooooo
axiaa ˙⋆✮@angelicf4iry
i’m from cali so if you call me weird it’s on sight idgaf
English

@ketsueki_raven @rawsalerts You don’t need fatalities for it to be an MCI.
English

@rawsalerts Not a mass casualty. It was misinterpreted because the local hospitals set up to handle a mass casualty in case they received multiple victims from the storms. No deaths in IL reported. Only two in IN at this time.
English

🚨#BREAKING: Officials in Kankakee, Illinois have declared a mass casualty incident after an extremely large and violent tornado tore through the area hours ago. Authorities report possible fatalities and multiple injuries, with numerous homes and buildings suffering significant damage as emergency crews continue search and rescue operations.
English

@DaPixlatedDude @Princesita622 @rawsalerts An MCI doesn’t need fatalities. An MCI is an incident in which there’s more patients than what an emergency service system can handle with the resources it has.
It’ll depend on location but 5+ or 10+ patients are common minimums for it to qualify as an MCI.
English

@Princesita622 @rawsalerts Has nothing to do with it being declared an MCI.
English

@Keiracoven @nv_bessie2003 @rawsalerts To be fair, newer first responders are unable to obtain their required incident command system certifications to work as the online training FEMA website is not operational. training.fema.gov/IS/
English

@nv_bessie2003 @rawsalerts What the fuck are you talking about? Trump literally ended BRIC, which helped states prep for disasters and he canceled 11 billion in FEMA disaster payments. Dems funded FEMA so much that republicans had to make up conspiracy theories about them secretly being death camps.

@WilliamCalamari @hearinladotcom @puwulitics It does need the transdermal patch in order to be absorbed. Paramedics and other medical providers spill fentanyl all the time when drawing it up with no reaction.
English

@hearinladotcom @puwulitics If it’ll kill ppl so easily via normal ingestion, then transdermal doesn’t seem that far off of a liability from that.
English

- Two cops picked up a DUI suspect found with a huge amount of cocaine.
- Cop driving the car crashes and dies & fentanyl is found in his blood
- Fent is often found in white powdery substances these days.
- Yet: "The time and route of how the fentanyl was introduced into Officer Cano's system is unknown and cannot be determined.”
ABC7 Eyewitness News@ABC7
The death of a CHP officer following a Culver City crash was caused by the effects of fentanyl, the medical examiner's office said, though it's unclear how or when it got in his system. Read more: abc7.la/3ZVwHDb
English

@CTtheViking @mujhemaardo They probably wouldn’t because they wouldn’t let you do that shit in America. The risk of infection and contamination is crazy. You can’t just walk out with your own blood.
English

@JohnDod55045852 @PFTCommenter Toradol is an NSAID like ibuprofen, you’re thinking of tramadol. Think the original post was as well.
English

@dporges @hardcandyIaw Most places in the US call it the emergency department and not room anymore.
English

@hardcandyIaw Side point: I realized yesterday they because of the lawsuit from the Crichton estate about the show “really” being ER in disguise, the show never ever says “ER”. It’s always “ED”.
English

@EllisVirgini @grungepup98 I know which cases you’re referring to and each time those people died due to paramedic neglectful treatment. Nothing they did was correct and if they DID everything correct nobody would have died.
No, PD is not able to order treatment.
English

@grungepup98 As long as paramedics take orders from cops to administer chemical restraints like ketamine, for example, and purposefully cause "excited delirium" then paramedics are also cops, sorry.
English

AS A PARAMEDIC I ENDORSE THIS MESSAGE
WE DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU TOOK, WE DO NOT REPORT DRUG USE, WE JUST DONT WANT TO KILL YOU WHEN WE GIVE YOU MEDICATION
lexapro@lexapro_mg
@neocollector TELL PARAMEDICS EVERYTHING AND TELL THE COPS NOTHING 🗣️
English

@Stevo66936978 @grungepup98 @kepe__ yeah we just sharps the drugs most of the time unless it’s a fuck ton.
the only person getting any mention in a “report” is the hospital if it’s a relevant part of patient care.
English

@grungepup98 @kepe__ Paramedics are mandated reporters, they are legally required to report drug use, specifically when it comes to ODing, but some other situations without ODing, and if they find drugs on the person they are legally required to turn it over to law enforcement as evidence.
English

@grungepup98 Don't listen to this man. Drug use doesn't mean anything, they just refuse care if you do them.
English

@marcarvisais @ThrillaRilla369 @BGatesIsaPyscho LA fire department is the primary 911 ambulance provider. They’re firefighter/paramedics.
English

@ThrillaRilla369 @BGatesIsaPyscho Is it common for a patient on a stretcher to be loaded onto the ambulance by firefighters? No paramedics around. Just firefighters. Weird.
English
