Practicing "leave no trace" or "pack it in, pack it out" is important in every natural space. However, this is especially important in non-operating parks, like Pretty River Valley Provincial Park, where staff aren't as present. Learn more: bit.ly/3jo6WW2

Great thread from Hike Ontario Past President, Terri LeRoux about hiking during Ontario's #stayathomeorder Be safe out there, follow all provincial directions and please hike close to home.
Terri LeRoux@ibelongoutdoors

I'm hearing from a lot of trail orgs & trail professionals across #Ontario that people aren't staying close to home this weekend when hiking for exercise. Allegedly, lots of daytrippers traveling great distances for a short stroll in the woods. My personal two cents ⬇️

When we walk into a grove of trees or under an open sky the magic of nature takes over and the heaviness of life lifts a little. #getoutside #naturetherapy #COVID19ON

Our parks are permitted to stay open under the latest restrictions with reduced visitor capacity. Trails are for use by members of the same household. We know everyone needs access to the beauty of nature right now, and we are happy to continue to safely support our community☀️🌱

Limiting your travel is essential to stopping the spread of COVID-19, staying safe and saving lives. Ontario Parks remain open for day-use as a way to spend time outdoors, get fresh air and for physical and mental health. 1/5
