Wishing a joyful and meaningful Passover to all who celebrate! As Jews around the world gather around the Seder table, may the stories we share remind us of resilience, hope, and the enduring power of community. Chag Pesach Sameach!

During Passover, Jews share the timeless story of their ancestors’ journey to freedom. Matzah, unleavened bread carried during that flight, remains a powerful symbol of fortitude and faith. We were honored to join Satmar Matzah Bakery to take part in their tradition of baking matzah and connecting with tradition. Happy Passover!

We’re glad to support the incredible network of non-profit organizations that are helping thousands of Jewish families prepare for their Passover Seder. For more than a week, we’ve joined numerous organizations, ensuring that every Jewish family has the food they need to celebrate Passover.

Three of NYC's four credit rating agencies have made the unusual move of shifting their fiscal outlook for NYC to negative. Why did this happen? What does it mean? How can we avoid a full ratings downgrade? My office just published a fiscal note that answers these questions. TL;DR: The ratings agencies are reacting to the weakening of fiscal shock absorbers in NYC's proposed budget, which relies on drawing down reserves and using one-time fixes. NYC has a large and diverse economy. We have the capacity to get our budget back on track. But it will take action: structurally reducing out-year gaps and rebuilding our reserves. Last week's budget modification from OMB simply shifts which reserves are drawn down—without improving the overall picture—and may in fact raise additional concerns for Moody’s in particular. Rating agencies will be watching closely to see whether we make real progress toward a more solid, sustainable budget between now and June. I’ll be pushing hard to ensure we get this right.

Comptroller Mark Levine visited the Satmar matzah bakery, where Pesach preparations are in full swing. Of course, he didn’t leave without sampling some freshly baked matzos. Thank you, Mr. Comptroller, for your leadership and steadfast friendship to the community

5 sad guys protesting outside. 2,100 happy families getting food inside. Thanks to the 18 public officials who came out to support the largest of our 200+ Pesach distributions @UnitedJewish in Williamsburg. Together, we’re serving over 250,000 people this Passover @MetCouncil!

It was wonderful to see so many people coming out to attend the brand new @Tantzers - Fischel Family Center ribbon cutting ceremony. A new home away from home for families undergoing medical challenges.

Nonprofits keep New York City running. From housing support to workforce development and family services, these organizations do critical work every day. But delayed payments and complicated systems make that work harder than it should be. Glad to host a roundtable where we can learn where the breakdowns happen, make improvements, and push for real solutions.

It is now clear that yesterday’s incident was an attempted terror attack. This could have been deadly. I am incredibly grateful for swift action by NYPD officers on the scene. This is an ongoing investigation with many more details yet to emerge. But one thing is clear: political violence in this country is on the rise. All of us need to unambiguously condemn this mounting threat, no matter the perpetrator, no matter the target. We need total unity across the spectrum in combatting this evil.
NYPD NEWS@NYPDnews

In connection with the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed yesterday, the NYPD has identified a suspicious device in a vehicle on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street. NYPD officers have frozen the area around the vehicle and are conducting limited evacuations of buildings in the vicinity while the Bomb Squad assesses and removes the device.
