#Uncommitted ‘27 RHP @Hillard77CC 6’1 185, Whitley Co HS, KY (17U Nation) Delivery Comp - Bryan Woo (@BJW002) Similarities •Rhythm •Ease of operation •Glove & hand break work linear w/ back hip •Coil breaks hands •Gradual coil @ pace of stride keeps upper half closed into foot stride •Arm action works w/ largest throwing muscles on backside •AA depth •Patience with torso •Stride length •Arm in throwing position at full foot strike •Front knee foundation firm not stiff w/ ideal bend @ land. Allows for better transfer of energy into external phase of throw •Sequencing in external phase of throw (front hip➡️front arm level➡️core➡️chest➡️elbow➡️hand •Front arm lever & shoulder rotation match arm slot •Low stress, elastic finish post release Differences to further improve upon for Hillard to match Woo’s elite MLB delivery 👇 1. Woo slowly squats/sinks into rear hammy+glute at the pace of stride (most squatted near landing), Hillard initially squat/sinks into hammy+glute early in the stride, but jump out of it the last 75% of stride. 2. Woo stacks upper half @ end of down phase as weight on back foot angles/rolls forward against momentum. Hillard stacking at end of up phase where weight is on outside of back foot (before he has momentum) thus overloading him on backside and slowing him down. Also causes premature forward shift of upper half in stride phase & loss of stretch. 3. Woo wrist+hand are deadened at hand break throughout arm path and elbow lift, creating a loose whip like lever and max momentum thru heaviness & gravity. Hillard wrist is curled out of hand break which causes more tension and less of a whip like lever, slows down arm path momentum. Less tension = more whip less effort… More tension = less momentum w/ the gravity of dropping ball out of glove = less arm speed.
