The Institute met with the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (@SASRA_ke) today, 19th February 2026, to discuss areas of mutual interest.
Led by the Council Members, CPA @CPABichanga and CPA Chrispus Mbogo, the @CeoIcpak, CPA Dr Grace Kamau, and the management team, the meeting deliberated on SASRA Guidelines on External Auditor approval, capacity-building initiatives, sustainability-related financial reporting, UDIN implementation within the Sacco sector, and illustrative financial statements for Saccos.
Hosted by CPA David Sandagi, the CEO of SASRA, the meeting agreed to collaborate to ensure consistency in the adoption and application of standards and to advise the market in a united front. @HillaryOnami

The submission reviewed the Sessional Paper No. 3 of 2025, and proposed policy recommendations such as the need for a transparent valuation and pricing methodology, impact of the diverstiture on government revenue, potential implications for future privatization initiatives, and the risks of overreliance on foreign portfolio flows, which can increase market volatility and weaken the domestic investor base.

ICPAK ENGAGES WITH CPA PARLIAMENTARIANS TO STRENGTHEN ACCOUNTABILITY
The Institute today held a strategic breakfast meeting with Certified Public Accountants serving in the @NAssemblyKE, led by Hon. CPA @KuriaKimaniMP, CBS, the Chairperson of the Finance and National Planning Committee, accompanied by Hon. CPA Julius Ruto, CPA Joseph Oyula, Hon. CPA Dr. Ariko Namoit and Hon. Amb. Benjamin Langat, alongside Winnie Kilonzo, Clerk Assistant at the National Assembly.
The meeting explored ways to boost collaboration between ICPAK and Parliament through capacity building, improved oversight, establishing a CPA Parliamentary Caucus, and reassessing the public expenditure framework, reaffirming the shared commitment to fiscal accountability and good governance.
The ICPAK delegation was led by Vice Chairman FCPA Benard Amukah, ICPAK Council members FCPA @MKinyalili Malombe, FCPA @hesbonomollo, CPA @olivegitau, CPA Mathew Mukisu, and CPA Chrispus Mbogo, together with members of the ICPAK secretariat led by Director of Public Policy and Research, @HillaryOnami.

The Chairman ,CPA Prof @ElizabethK38467 Kalunda led the Institute in a consultative discussion with the PS State Department for Devolution, Mr. Michael Lenasalon. The discussions centred around strengthening devolution in Kenya through collaboration, strategic partnerships, technical support, review of devolution related policies and laws, capacity building and placement of accountants centrally in county financial management.
The Chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman FCPA Benard Amukah, Council Members CPA @olivegitau, CPA Jona Wala, CPA Chrispus Mbogo and CPA Mathew Mukisu, Devolution Committee member CPA Amina Mohamed, @HillaryOnami Onami-Director Public Policy & Research and members of the Secretariat @wakhisi.
