I'll be recording @thinkingpoker on Thursday, 3/19. What questions do you want me to answer? About poker, being a Mom of a 1 month old (she will be 1 month on the 19th!), what my poker plans are as a new Mom, playing poker 9 months pregnant, etc- the floor is open!

16 reasons you lose money in tournament poker:
- Calling wider multi-way because you’re “getting better odds”
- Opening more hands in early position when stacks are deep
- Flatting raises preflop instead of 3 betting to “see cheap flops”
- Avoiding flips
- Avoiding small bets because you don’t want to look weak
- Jamming every combo draw on the flop
- Refusing to 3-bet jam small pairs (25–30bb) from the blinds vs late opens
- Using your own preflop strategy instead of referencing charts
- Flatting the big blind wider when deep stacked
- Playing tighter from the big blind when short-stacked
- Avoiding squeezing and 4 betting because you think keeping the pot small will help you play longer
- Flatting many offsuit hands deep or multi-way
- Talking about your “tournament life” in Level 1
- Only check-raising 2 pair+ from the big blind
- Only discussing hands you lost
- Thinking you played well every time you win and that you did something wrong when you lose

My thoughts on "avoiding flips". Don't do it!

Faraz Jaka@FarazJaka
. @padspoker recently posted a tweet asking how often a good player busts poker tournaments Bluffing / Coolered / Bad Beat / Losing a flip / Calling off dead. The most common response amongst top pros was: losing a flip is 40-60% of their bust outs.

@SamGreenwoodRIO I absolutely love this!
"You're not that good" could be my positive affirmation followed by "but you don't need to be" and "you're plenty good enough."

@thinkingpoker @NotSpewheb Immediately after recording, I was 75% sure of my mystery bounty answers. After listening away from the hot seat, I'm 85% sure.
The only thing I know for sure I said wrong was that the Hydra's average bounty is equal to a starting stack. I meant roughly half a starting stack.
