It's been ten days since I became the SDP's official presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. It is an honor and a privilege to stand up not only for our party, but for all Nigerians who are struggling under this incompetent government. Together, we will give Nigeria the leadership it deserves. Together, we will deliver real change. It all starts here 🇳🇬

A Nation Losing Its HUMANITY. Some events shatter a society so deeply that words are no longer enough to express the shock; the brutal killing of a teacher and the horrific rape and murder of an elderly woman are among such tragedies. These are not isolated incidents but signs of deeper moral and social decay. How did we get here? How did we reach a point where teachers are hunted and killed, and the elderly—custodians of memory and wisdom—suffer such dehumanising violence? This is more than a security crisis; it is a failure of collective humanity. We have become desensitised, consuming tragedy briefly and moving on, allowing indifference to normalise the unacceptable. To the families affected, I share in your grief. But grief alone is not enough. We must demand accountability and urgent systemic change. If such atrocities no longer move us to action, then we risk losing our shared humanity. -PO

This guy was a f*cking monster tonight - just magnificent from start to finish. They can give all the awards they like to people in losing teams who win nothing but @_DeclanRice is the player every other team *really* wants. He’s been absolutely brilliant all season.

The inter-border community policing we need in Yorubaland will suffer poor intelligence gathering & inter-community collaborations without a strong & sincere unity among our monarchs. The disunity & cliques amongst them has made such an onerous task. Some acclaimed Awoists think Awolowo was stupid to enforce the sacrosanctness of our source & its Monarch, not to make other obas his slave or subjects but to merely serve as a symbol of unity. Who is ur leader? When there is no order, what u get is chaos. That is why whenever Ife goes to the right, Oyo intentionally goes left but some delusional Yorubas think ignoring such insanity is how u preserve unity. Yet, same people cry about insecurity. Igboho started getting acceptance to discuss community policing with many Kings after the Ooni asked Obas to work with him; What did the Alaafin do? That was when he summoned Gani Adams to be doing the same thing knowing fully well that both camps are at loggerheads. How can u forge a common front with such madness? A few Ondo & Ekiti Monarchs have grumbled about not collaborating with Alaafin if he brings the car customized with 'Emperor' & some people are telling u trashing this issue out is divisive? Have u outsourced ur brains to influencers or leaders? U can't ignore divisive elements becuz of tribal affiliation & be calling for collaboration; Between who & who??????? What I heard from a Princess during midnite really broke my heart & eyin kan tan ara yin? A king has visited Fulani Monarchs & a fanatic Oluwo twice each but can't go to Ife, even after the coronation gifts but u want to crush Fulanis in same town? Higi haga!! I am ready to accept 'arrows' if thats the price for saying the truth in search for genuine unity NOT the 'cosmetic' one we have now! @khalifaoyin @ERINFOLAMI2024 @og_beeping101 @ogunfeminire @Achilles0055199

Dear @seyimakinde I have celebrated your successes a lot on and off this app and I will keep on doing that, but there are certain matters that require your attention before you bid farewell. THE SECURITY ARCHITECTURE OF OYO STATE Your Excellency, There are more concerns on border matters now than ever, Our dear state is getting exposed to OBVIOUS attacks lately than it used to in times past, The most relative attack is the Oriire LGA where 45students were abducted and report says one of the teachers has been beheaded. It will rather bless this State that our Security Architecture step up especially on border line and localities. Some of your followers are thinking inwardly to link this attack as a sponsored attack while some are objectively saying that sponsored attack or not, Our border line security response has not been smart enough and it's a concern now that the country is going through banditry and terrorism at peak. Going by the Public Opinion on this subject matter, the people of Oyo State would be more than grateful if the Security Architecture of our dear state step up than the current one we have where Intelligence reports fail and sometimes be relayed ahead of suspicion and still such activities still happen. If we would be entering into the Metropolitan stature as a state with Omituntun 3.0, Our security needs to step up. Here are suggestions raised via public opinion interpreting various comments. 🚀 Employ more Amotekun corps. 🚀 Equip/Train the Amotekun more for boarder operations/ Territorial services. 🚀 Embrace local Hunters and community security personnels for Intelligence reports and hinting . 🚀 Set up a security panel within each local government of the state (Involving the local Governments) These are suggestions from theoretical perspectives from us who are not in the seats of affairs, we trust your leadership and trust that this issue would be sorted before you bow out of office. Thank you, your excellency for looking into this proactively. @FeedbackOYSG @OyoPoliceNG @oyostategovt

Bros, water down pass garri for this one, with what is on ground at the illegal mining site @OyoPoliceNG will have to muster NSCDC, Military, DSS, NDLEA to at least 10,000 to 15,000 personnel before they can even evict those illegal miners out of the Forest reserve. After doing it, they have to do a routine patrol to the sites for at least 6months. Before handing it out to NSCDC and National Park for further action. That place is a community on its own, a black Maria of 50 can't pack the entire population there.
Arojinle@arojinle1

Actions that (I think) can make Old Oyo National Park safe 1. Permanent, intelligence-driven security presence inside the park. The way police, Àmọ̀tẹ́kùn and hunters are combing the forest now, things would be better if we have a permanent structure like that. If we continue to use these people for crisis response, we'll continue to get the results we're getting. You don't start buying CCTV and weapon when an assailant is already in your room. You buy them down. We need to have people with deep knowledge of the terrain constantly patrolling. 2. A dedicated ranger force with modern communication equipment, drones, and satellite mapping should be stationed at strategic points within the park year-round. 3. The political and legislative work to establish state police must be accelerated. Our local security outfits should be empowered more with training, retraining and ammunitions. 4. Cross-state security coordination needs to be institutionalised. It should not activated only in crisis mode. 5. Community engagement and intelligence networks is urgently needed. Local hunters, farmers, and herdsmen know the park far better than any external security force. Formalising and compensating these community informants, as some states have already started doing, creates a superb human intelligence network. 6. Investment in the communities surrounding the park will reduce the pool from which criminal networks recruit and the number of locals willing to provide them with logistical support. Schools, markets, roads, youth employment is a security measure. Bandits and kidnappers won't stop, unless they're stopped.

ON THE ABDUCTION OF PUPILS AND SCHOOL STAFF IN ORIRE LOCAL GOVERNMENT I received with profound sadness the disturbing news of the abduction of pupils, students, and school staff in parts of Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. My heart goes out to the affected families, the management of the schools, and the entire communities of Yawota, Esiele, and surrounding areas during this anxious period. An attack on our schools is an attack on our future. Our children should be in classrooms learning in safety, not living in fear. No parent should have to endure the trauma of not knowing the whereabouts of their child. I commend the Oyo State Police Command, the I.G, and other security agencies for launching rescue operations, and I urge them to intensify efforts to ensure the safe and immediate return of all those abducted. I also call on the Oyo State Government to work closely with security agencies and local communities to strengthen security around our schools, particularly in rural areas that are more vulnerable to criminal attacks. To the affected families, please remain hopeful. My thoughts and prayers and that of the entire state are with you. We stand with you and share in your pain. As a people, we must unite against all forms of criminality and continue to support lawful efforts to keep our communities safe. May Almighty God protect our children and grant their safe return. OH

Professor Wole Soyinka has published over 100 books. In his over 90 years on earth, he has shown me that you should never stop. When he read my book, Lemon Grass, he sent me an email, saying: “Should let you know that I enjoyed the latest product of your wild imagination on the way home. Flight delay in Abidjan enabled me to complete reading it. The stylistic verve reminded me of Ishmael Reed - did you ever run into his works? He was also sui generis. He sort of faded out after the US Black revolution of the sixties into seventies and, so I'd be very much surprised if you'd encountered his writings.” He is well-read and has worked so hard, that there is no one like him. This is him in the 60s in the video. Still the same.

Ahead of the APC governorship primary election happening next week, here is a list of endorsements for both candidates contesting for the ticket. Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has secured the most powerful endorsements Lagos politics can offer: President Tinubu, the GAC, the sitting governor, two former governors, organised labour, and the full APC machinery. In Lagos, where the GAC's consensus has produced every governor since 1999, that list is less an endorsement and more a coronation. Dr. Samuel Ajose — SMA Gold — is making a different argument entirely. His base isn't in Alausa or Abuja. It's in the markets, the motor parks, the church pews of the Celestial Church of Christ, and the towns of Badagry Division.
