What exactly is “normal size”? The 330-450ft length is mentioned in some historical sources. But even the lowest mentions still put his ships at around 200-250ft, which would have made them far larger than any other ships at the time.

Amused by the desperate, earnest intensity of this cope. Of course Zheng He was real. His ships were normal size, not 450 feet or whatever. But some people just NEED that giant ship fantasy to be real.

@Radoslava_25 It's like this in a lot of other Asian countries as well. I'm not used to it either since in the US the store attendants typically don't bother you until you call them.

@ss7ok7GypRS5HDd Yeah I flew Delta a lot when I used to live in LA, but a big part of that was the Amex Plat Skyclub access 😂

@HistorianHa 😂 delta is actually the best of them, i know the service really sucks, but they send you to the places on time, others are not that reliable

They’re going to lower prices for reducing in-flight service right? Right?
Avgeek Jan@Avgeek_Jan

🔴 @Delta is cutting in-flight service on 450 daily flights starting May 19, and frequent flyers are NOT happy about it. From that date, any flight under 350 miles in economy will get zero service. Nothing. Not even water. That covers a lot of routes people fly every single week for work. The old system had an express service on flights of 251 to 499 miles, which was coffee, tea, or water. That is now gone entirely for shorter hops. Now, to be fair, there is a flip side. Around 600 daily flights in the 350 to 499 mile range are actually getting upgraded from express to full beverage service. So more people overall will get a proper drink cart. First class keeps full service across the board regardless of distance. #Delta #DeltaAirLines #Aviation

@Tracey_PayneAsi I guess he really wanted to go visit his “like minded” partner. Nothing screams democracy better than visiting a monarchical dictatorship 😂

Looks like Lai basically just tagged along on the Eswatini government plane to get there. Kind of a funny way to avoid getting your charter plane airspace blocked. I wonder if he'll just go back on the same plane. udn.com/news/story/665…

I’m very sympathetic to what Lina Khan tried to do but some of the fights she picked and her tactics were terrible. Like the Microsoft-ABK merger. So many ways to go about it but her entire argument was “this is bad for Sony”. Even the judge had to remind her it wasn’t about Sony
Legal Phil@Legal_Fil

So Lina Khan blocked the merger with Jet Blue because she said the loss of an airline would hurt consumers. The end result: not only the loss of an airline but mass unemployment. A socialism story.

Air China surely starting to push for first place in my most travelled with airlines - this despite trying to avoid them as much as possible. Good leg room this time though. Incredibly rare for them.

@TheGrouchHK It’s fine I had them book me a ticket for the day before so I’ll have a night in Seoul. Ample time to transfer plus I get some time to explore a bit haha

@HistorianHa A few citizenships are eligible for the Korean equivalent of the eChannel. But even if eligible you have to enter once at a manual counter and then register I believe. There's a smart thingy too but apparently it's buggy and overcrowded 😅 Bottom line: hand luggage only...

I hate dealing with incompetent travel agents…dudes booked me a 1.5hr layover in Seoul ON TWO SEPARATE TICKETS and expect me to to through customs in Korea and check in again for the next flight

@HistorianHa Check you don't need a visa for that - I went to Bhutan via a short layover in India & didn't realise I needed a visa for India with separate tickets because of going through customs then back again to board the next flight. I lost 2 days of holiday in Bhutan waiting for visa.
