Everything you need to know about Amazon/MGM’s "Young Sherlock": Directed by Guy Ritchie who usually keeps it male, so what could go wrong, right? Well, it’s a DECONSTRUCTION, so it starts off with young Sherlock Holmes IN PRISON for pickpocketing. It takes place in 1869 but has a loud jangly modern soundtrack. His brother Mycroft gets him out, and they immediately go to see “MUMMY” in the insane asylum. She went crazy after her young DAUGHTER - Holmes' SISTER - drowned in a lake when they were kids. Anyway, they head to Oxford where Sherlock thinks he’s going to school… …but because it’s a DESECRATION of the character, he’s instead working there as the new “shitter-cleaner.” Later, a Chinese princess gets waylaid and kidnapped by bandits - but manages to shoot 2 of them dead and outfights another, kidnapping averted. THAT’S ABOUT WHEN I KNEW I WASN’T GONNA LIKE IT, BUT I KEPT GOING ANYWAY. Sherlock meets the Chinese princess and speaks to her in Mandarin. Instead of being grateful for the respect, she of course insults his pronunciation and his delivery. Also, there are FEMALE STUDENTS AT OXFORD, about 51 years before it actually happened. And some of them are DIVERSE FEMALES. A lot of the dialogue is people quoting things to seem smart. A lot of the dialogue is men having word battles to show how smart they are. Holmes meets Moriarty at Oxford, and they seem to be flirting with each other. The Chinese Princess' sacred scrolls are stolen, and since Holmes is an ex-con, hes the prime suspect. Holmes therefore meets Young Constable Lestrade who's investigating the crime. The Chinese Princess demands to see the crime scene herself. She and Holmes have a conversation AGAIN in Mandarin. She puts all the men in their place. Then she and Moriarty begin to help Holmes solve the crime. Holmes and Moriarty solve the crime, but discover an even worse event about to take place. Holmes saves the day. Later, the Chinese princess comes to his room to thank him. Instead, she roofies Sherlock and frames him for murder. Episode one ends with him being arrested AGAIN. Sad to see another great director sell his soul to WOKENESS. There's good Guy Ritchie (The Gentlemen) and there's AWFUL Guy Rithie (MobLand). I'm not really sure where this one lands, but after this premiere episode, my hopes are not high.

I live in a town bordering Boston. We had a parking ban for three weeks after the first snow storm. Finally lifted it the Friday before the last storm as they frantically had police cruisers driving up and down the street on bullhorns: ' Move ya cah! Weah towing for snow removal!! ' Now were back to a parking ban and everyone is wondering how long this is going to last. - and the snow removal in Boston was subpar to say the least.

Born on this date in 1886,Trooper and sniper, Billy Sing. Sing had close to 300 kills during WWI. The Turks sent their best sniper to eliminate him only to have that sniper make contact and then be killed by Billy. The war was rough on him and he suffered from it. Sadly,he later died during WWII,poor,forgotten by his country and alone. Years ago when I read about him I and his sad end,I pledged to remember him each year on his birthday.
